Homely hotel in Zermatt

Posted Feb 1, 2014
Pros: Value, location, staff, jacuzzi
Location: Skiing
Stayed as a couple at Bella Vista for three nights and had a great time. Wonderful family-run hotel 10m walk from central Zermatt. Great facilities, including ski room, boot room, communal lounge with fireplace, jacuzzi (x2) with Matterhorn views. Great value for Zermatt. Room was a little on the small side, mostly occupied by double bed, but we paid a low rate and other rooms may be larger. Would definitely stay here again when in Zermatt.

Comfortable and Convenient

Posted Oct 4, 2013
We had an overnight stay between the glacier Express and the Bernina Express and this hotel was perfect for us, a good price for Switzwerland with a comfortable homey feel and an excellent breakfast. They happily stored our luggage for 3 hours while we waited for our next train and arranged a taxi to the station. The hotel is not fancy but very comfortabe and convenient. It is any easy 100 metres to the centre of town.

Great breakfast and helpful staff

Posted Sep 7, 2013
Location: Great hikes
While not super close to the train, this hotel succeeded in every other area. The breakfast was delicious and even had fresh squeezed orange juice that was outstanding. The hotel staff was great. Our room got upgraded to a two room sweet with a great view of the Matterhorn. One of the days it was my birthday, and I got apple strudel with a candle in it in the morning. They gave great recommendations for dinner places and were always very friendly and a nice. Overall a wonderful stay!

Hotel ideal pour une nuit de transit

Posted Aug 11, 2013

Pleasant and Friendly

A lot of thought and experience has gone into the management of this hotel. Upon arrival in Zermatt we were met by one of the owners and driven to the hotel. A much appreciated service. Liked the location also, not down in noisy center, but within easy walking distant from center, and trail heads. Our room was nicely appointed, the beds were comfortable, had a great view of the mountains, and a private patio where we spent delightful evenings watching the sun set. Also, we arrived in the evening after traveling for many hours and was very appreciative of their offer to make us a light dinner of soup, it was delicious, and the best dinner option considering we were tried and needed a little time to acclimate to the altitude. It seems like they have put a lot of effort into making visitor comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to returning in the near future.

Pros: Nice well preserved historical hotel. Great location near downtown restaurants, ferries, shopping areas and funicular. Free breakfast was spectacular
Cons: Wish they had an ice machine for drinks.
Location: Ferries & shopping
Stayed one night waiting for morning boat ferries.

home away from home

Pros: view from the room
Cons: nothing
Location: great skiing and sights
I have stayed at many of the finest hotels in the world, and this one was by the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The hotel is family owned and they go out of their way to make you feel at home. You feel more like a cousin visiting than a guest. The city is nice, but be forewarned, you cannot drive in the city, you need to park at Tasch and then take a train or Taxi the rest of the way in, or get a 1000 fr fine.

Very cozy place with great and hospitable owners. I had a great time there. very close to the train station, 10 -15 walking distance.
