Valdez Harbor Inn is the best!

Pros: Love its location! Appreciate that it's older, not a new style. And sweet noise-cancelling windows!
Cons: Shower: water pressure was great, but temperature sometimes fluctuated between hot and cold, made for fun evasion moves when showering! ; )
Location: The Valdez Harbor Inn is located right by the harbor, and at one end of the harbor front featuring restaurants, shops and offices.
Friendly, accommodating staff. Clean, comfortable rooms. Great bar/lounge. Loved waking up each day to view of the harbor and the misty mountains! And really appreciated the noise-cancelling windows! Didn't know just how well they'd been working until we cracked a window one sunny (but brisk!) morning. Only con is the shower proved to be a bit of a gamble - water pressure was great and consistent, but temperature sometimes (not always) fluctuated back-and-forth between hot and cold - made for some fun evasion moves when showering! Maybe it happens when a lot of residents are showering at same time. Other than that small piece - we love the Valdez Harbor Inn!!!

Great Hotel in a port town!

Pros: Location, Breakfast, quiet
Location: Museums, restaurants within walking distance
We enjoyed our stay here. The line was long during our checkin but moved quickly and the staff was friendly. While this is an older hotel it has been very well maintained. Our room was clean, quiet (the hotel seemed quite full the night we were there so this was an added bonus) and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast in the AM was probably one of the best I've had an any hotel. Bacon, sausage links, French Toast, pancakes, among other things, it was quite filling and we throughly enjoyed it! I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Valdez!

SMELLY

The room was so smelly that I wanted to hold my breath. I asked the front desk to spray it and she did but that just made it worse. I opened the window (on the ground floor) all night and I was very very uncomfortable. It definitely was not worth $ 187,00 I couldn't wait to get out of there.

One of the best in town. Nice and helpful staff. Breakfast is more than just Continental.

Great advice to go and see the salmon hatchery in the short time we had in Valdez. Great location only 2 minutes drive to the ferry and in the town centre. Food was great.

Not the greatest Best Western

Pros: The breakfast was the only thing nice about this place. Variety to chose from and the ladies were extremely nice.
Cons: Expedia should take into consideration that this place is costing them business. Will not rent from Best western or feel comfortable using Expedia.
Will not be going back to this place ever. Booked on Expedia and thought we would have a nice room, but no I think they gave us the worst room in the whole place. The room was extremely hot even with the window open and a fan running. I went to the front desk to ask why the room was so hot and the hallway was so cool, the front desk person asked if I had the heater on. I thought no how stupid do you think I am, and there was no offer to come check it out or try to help cool the room down. The price I had to pay was a real rip off I would have stayed at the other places because apparently they were better and cheaper. We were on the ground floor so it sucked having the window open because people were walking and talking right next to us. They were possible doing painting or something to the walls in the hallway also, so it looked trashy and tacky to walk in and see the masking paper and the walls looked like crap. Then when I took a shower the water didn't drain it pooled up in the tub. Then I had to keep adjusting the water because it would go too hot then cold all of a sudden. The breakfast was good nice selection and the girls taking care of it were extremely nice. Then in the morning the room keys stopped working so I had to go have the desk take care of that and they only gave me one key. When checking out of this place I had the privilege of dealing with the same girl I talked to about how hot it was in the room. Told her stay was miserable, and no one cared

The owner is very friendly. The cabin is spacious with kitchen, refrigerator and more. Beds are comfortable.
