Clean

Posted Sep 16, 2017
Our family stayed here on our last night away from home due to the Hurricane Irma evacuation. Right next to the interstate, it was easy to locate. Our room was clean, and provided everything we needed. It was close by many restaurants and shops.

Stayed in a Pinch

Posted Sep 15, 2017
We stayed here one night, in an emergency situation when evacuating from Hurricane Irma. The hotel itself isn't terrible in maintenance or design, the staff was just fine, and we were thankful to find an available inexpensive hotel where we could bring our dog (most had no vacancies). However, the room itself smelled damp and of mold and there were roaches, as well as a dead mosquito in one bed. We brought in our own blankets and pillows from the car, in order to try to get some sleep after our 11 hr drive (that should have taken 6 hrs but due to road traffic) that night. I'm sorry to leave a negative review, but want to save someone else from this kind of experience - hurricane or not.

Very dirty and very, very outdated.

Posted Sep 15, 2017
Pros: nothing
Cons: everything
Location: Dairy Queen............closed
We knew that this hotel would be dirty but we were trying to return home to Florida after hurricane Irma and had no other choice. You kind of figure it out when this is the only hotel in GA. that had not sold out.

I am so sorry to hear about your stay. During the storm we did lose power and cable for a long time. The Dairy Queen did run out of food. They were not prepared for that many people. My apologies for that. I do hope you will give us another opportunity.

Irma Evacuation

Posted Sep 14, 2017
Pros: The housekeeping staff
Cons: Everything except the pool
Location: There was nothing to do nearby.
HoJo was the only hotel where we could find vacancy once we decided to leave Southern FL to evacuate from Irma. Ended up staying at this facility for 5 nights. The room we stayed in the first night smelled so heavily of animal urine that we had to be moved. The next room we stayed in was much better although the building is old and the rooms are in desperate need of upgrading. If there had been anywhere else in the vicinity to move to we would have. The only two bright spots of this hotel are the pool and the housekeeping staff. It served us in a pinch but would never stay there unless I had to.

Run away

Posted Jul 16, 2017 on Hotels
Worst place to stay. I needed help in the morning about some charges to my card and guy on shift told Me was leaving and that his relief was running a little behind. 30min later with no employee of hotel working his relief shows up.

Arriving early

Posted Jul 10, 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: This was the second time I had stayed in a motel that is part of the Wyndham Hotel group that month, I was impressed enough I enrolled in their reward
Cons: The only thing is it could use one large comfortable chair. The chair for sitting at the desk or working at the little table was adequate but for TV?
Location: It was fine there was gas, food and services close. We were traveling and it met our needs very well. Clean and convenient.
I arrived a little early and hoped my room might be ready, and it was not. So I needed to kill a little time in Valdosta. I tried to find a business I had gone to five year ago, it was not there. The driving around did waist the time needed for our room to get ready.

A No-Frills Place to Lay One's Head

Posted Jul 4, 2017 on Hotels
A simple no-frills place to lay one's head for a reasonable price. My only negative would be in the the descriptive section of "Hotels.com", it states this establishment offers a "roll-away-bed". This particular establishment "did not". I called the actual establishment prior to my stay to verify and was told they did not offer this option and it was not on "their" particular website. Not a big deal & this would be "Hotels.com" issue, probably...in any case, still well worth the stay.
