Room stunk at first. Noted roaches in room. Needs an exterminator.

Beautiful property that is well maintained. Darren makes you feel right and home and was very responsive and informative about the surrounding area. Will stay there again when in Mena.

Understand that it's a historic property, so it's like a step back in time. We loved it, and enjoyed reading the history on the walls.

We have stayed here every trip to Poteau and the room is clean, the employees very helpful and professional, and enjoyed our breakfasts!

The first room we were given was filthy. The bathroom had little clumps of mud all over the floor so I wet a tissue to try and sweep it into a corner and the tissue came up completely black like the floor had never been mopped. In addition, the toilet had fecal matter stuck to the inside of the bowl. I called the front desk immediately and asked that housekeeping come up to clean the bathroom. I was told that they didn’t have housekeeping on staff so they would change our room and I could come get the key. When I went to the desk I asked the lady what the draw was for Poteau OK that made all the hotels so expensive… she looked at my reservation and said “you should have booked directly with us, it would have been a lot cheaper. Believe me honey, Expedia gets their money”. I asked that the information of the room condition be given to the manager and was told she wrote it down. After that, I was never contacted by anyone in the hotel during our 6 day stay. The hotel slso smells bad which prompted me to go to the store to get canned deodorizer and scented candles for our room to make it bearable.
