Great location

Posted Aug 29, 2015
Pros: Excellent downtown location!
Cons: Bathroom & kitchen, also add cooking wares so guest could really cook/use stove.
Location: Location is the business or financial district of Vancouver, in the heart of downtown where many high end shops and restaurants are nearby.
Stayed at La Grende Residence 1-BR suite - nice living area, bedroom comfortable; however, kitchen and bathroom, esp. bath tiles needed much upgrade and re-grouting, some parts of tub tiles look dirty. Staff friendly and courteous. Overall, enjoyed our stay because of great location. It was fun walking to many nearby attractions, shops, and eateries. We also took 2-days of hop-on & off trolley ride which took us all over town like to Stanley Park, Granville Island, Gastown, Chinatown, Yaletown, etc.

Horrible experience

Posted Aug 27, 2015
We had to listen to construction noise all day long. They should not have had people staying anywhere close to this construction noise. Way too much money to listen to this terrible noise all day. Should have been pre-warned about the spa remodel and noise associated with the construction. Also trash, pizza boxes etc sat in the hallway throughout our stay.

やはりリビングだけでなく、キッチンとダイニングスペースがあると、簡単な調理も出来るし、デリのお惣菜も活躍できるので家族旅行の場合は重宝しますね。

Good location on Burrard and Robson. Stayed @ grand residences. Nice spacious suites. furniture mid level, not high end. Good value. Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking is expensive. If you are going to be in and out throughout the day, it's probably worth it. If you plan on being out the whole day, park overnight on the street nearby for free.

Good location, room with good city view, friendly staff, comfy bed. The only complain I have is the slow elevator.

Caveat Emptor at La Grande Residence

Posted Aug 22, 2015
Location: If you need a quick bite, the restaurant across the street, JOEY Burrard, is quite good and perfect for a quick dinner.
We stayed in an unrenovated two bedroom suite. For the uniniated, "unrenovated" means Formica in the bathrooms, a sketchy tub, worn tile, ugly fluorescent lighting, and, inexplicably, no shower in the master bathroom. Clarify with the staff well ahead of time that you would like a renovated room; we requested one when we checked in and they were all gone. Of course, this could have had something to do with the fact that we booked through Expedia and got an excellent rate that didn't quite buy us a renovated room. However, the website does not indicate that these rooms have a difference in price. IF that's how they're going to play it, fine, but at least let the guest know ahead of time. The Sutton is a gorgeous hotel; if they are going to put some guests in rooms that have nothing to do with the luxurious accommodations they DO have available, a heads up might be in order. On the plus side, we were only there for one night. They did honor our request for a high floor and it was nice and quiet. Whatever it lacks in decor and ambiance, an unrenovated room is sparkling clean, has nice fluffy towels, Gilchrist and Soames amenities, and comfortable bedding. The hotel is in an excellent location as well and within walking distance of good restaurants, shops and sights. The bell staff is quite nice and very helpful.

Great downtown location

Hotel in a very convenient place in the centre of downtown Vancouver. Really opulent foyer and ground floor. Room was nice and clean, but a little tired and in need of a facelift. Quite a lot of traffic noise (2nd floor room) even with doors and windows closed. Pool and outside terrace a real plus. Excellent deli/supermarket next door and Starbucks opposite. Would stay again purely for location.
