Very convenient and close to so many restaurants

Posted Jun 5, 2017
Hotel is good it's just that the door is not tightly sealed si we can hear the closing or opening of the door in the hallway or people talking in the hallway. Overall, hotel is fairly good. Very convenient and accessible to most amenities, restaurants and nearby Grandville Island.

Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I arrived well before checkin time to drop my bags off knowing my room wouldn't be ready yet. When my room was ready they called to inform me. Hotel was well cared for and room was clean. Convenient location on several bus lines and a few blocks from the skytrain station. Lots of restaurants in the area along with a drug store across the street. Generally quiet but very close to the hospital with a helicopter landing pad. The first time I heard the helicopter coming in (not knowing it was there) was a little worrying but after that really only heard it one other time in my 3 night stay.

Ok, but not great. I would not stay there again. The bathroom was small and with a low ceiling. The room was clean but the bathroom needs a renovation; chipped paint, bathtub creaks when you step into it, etc. Close proximity to the hospital means that you will hear sirens. My room faced the back, so no view of downtown. The location is good for access to bus and sky train, though. There's a grungy Tim Hortons across the street which is still better than the overpriced offering at the hotel. Also the request for an extra $150 deposit at check in seems unnecessary considering that they have your credit card. That soured my impression of the place immediately. The staff at the front desk seem inexperienced and indifferent; for example, at checkout it's typical to ask how the stay was - I wasn't asked anything aside from whether i wanted the charge processed on the same card at checkin. They processed the bill and that's it. I received better customer service at the YVR airport.

Noise, Noise, Noise

Posted Apr 24, 2017
Paper thin walls and doors, and the noise from the street traffic and sirens was absolutely unbearable. I had to use ear plugs all 3 nights which didn't help much. Basic cable, a deserted restaurant (literally waited 15 minutes at a table and no staff or customers). Ended up going elsewhere. Hotel staff never say hello or goodbye, room wasn't ready when I arrived at 4pm (waited 40 minutes), lobby was always full of families (probably waiting for rooms as well), etc. I will never stay here again. Such an uncomfortable stay, and lack of sleep.

Dear Santino, Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. We understand how important a quiet environment is and apologize for the lack of sleep you encountered. As we are located in the heart of Fairview Slopes on West Broadway Avenue there is no doubt that city traffic noise is a factor. Your comments regarding our restaurant are duly noted and have been provided to our management group today for action. . We hope you will give us another chance if you are in the area again. and we do wish to thank you for staying with us. Sincerely, D. Tooley, Director of Sales

Nice view but not much more

Posted Apr 21, 2017
Pros: Nice view, courteous and helpful staff.
Cons: Clean up the odour and update the furnishings
Location: Close to public transit (3 blocks) and many affordable restaurants.
We chose this hotel because of its proximity to downtown, Granville Island and public transit plus it had a competitive rate. Although the view of downtown was pretty appealing, the hotel hallways smelled bad and there was not much in the way of hotel lobby or amenities. The staff were courteous and helpful; breakfast cafe was reasonably clean but otherwise not overly appealing.

Great view from 6th floor elite rooms!

Posted Apr 20, 2017
The view was a nice surprise, we had a view of downtown Vancouver skyline, ocean and mountains, it was beautiful. Room was clean enough but the bed was kind of springy, only stayed one night so this wasn't a big deal. Would recommend for sure!

Nice sized room, comfy bed. A bit noisy street

Posted Apr 17, 2017
The room was fine with two queen sized beds. Good tv and wifi. Our room was facing the street and it could be quite noisy. The hotel is quite simple and could need a brush up.

Dear Guest, We thank you for staying with us. While the northside of the hotel affords great views the southside of the hotel is quieter if our guests desire this. The beds in the guestrooms are double size (not queen size) but we are glad to see that you enjoyed the bed size regardless. With our regards, D. Tooley, Director of Sales

A for sure stay there again.

Posted Apr 17, 2017
Cons: Fix the doors to the rooms. As they are hard to open and close. They rub terribly.
Location: Lots of shopping and places to eat.
The room and facility's were very clean. The sounds from the ambulance going to the hospital were very minimal and we were at the back of the hotel where we could see the hospital. We checked in early and room wasn't ready but told us they would call us when it was. So we got our parking pass from the front desk and parked then went for a walk. Got back at 4:30 pm as check in was 4:00 and no one had called us. Paper was delivered to our door in the morning, what a nice surprise. Didn't eat in the facility. We thought that breakfast was to expensive so when across the street to Tims. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops around. IHOP is about 1/2 a block away. Had supper one evening at Original Joes, was excellent. We definitely would stay again. Good value.
