Tacky and noisy

While they claim to have water views, we had a lovely "city view", which was of a train station. It was also in the flight path to the Vancouver airport - with flights barreling in overhead at 2.00 AM in the morning!! We had dinner at their "gourmet Italian restaurant", and what a joke! It was twice the price of any good restaurant a short drive into Vancouver, and the food was only mediocre. Our server kept switching accents during the course of the evening, sometimes he was French, other times he was Italian, and other times just kind of inattentive.
The room was quite dull, except that the bathroom door would not close, and when the AC came on in the room, it would blow open. We actually began to laugh at what a comedy of errors this hotel is.
The only saving grace is their concierge, Pedro. He was a font of information, and followed up on everything he committed to doing for our visit. We were grateful for his efforts, and it's what kept us from giving this place a "one star" rating.
If you're an elderly Chinese retiree looking to spend the weekend in front of penny slots, this is the place for you. Otherwise, drive another 20 minutes into Vancouver for a better experience, and a memory of Vancouver that does not elicit laughter and swearing when you think back on your visit.
