There are better choices

Posted Aug 27, 2015
Pros: Frankie's
Cons: I think the hotel is a tear down
Location: Great location if you're there for a game. Try Cheesecake Ect... On Granville St. open 7pm-1am
In fairness the staff was kind and accomadating. The hotel was clean but very outdated. Frankie's Restaurant was very good. We were there on a game night ( there's a football stadium across the street ), being from out of town we weren't aware of that so it was loud till about 11pm. We had a one bedroom "suite" stadium side.

Doesn't match description

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: Staff were friendly and quick, the amenities were good, and the location was convenient.
Cons: The price was high for this style of hotel.
This was a nice hotel, with good amenities and a convenient location. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a good hotel close to the stadiums. I don't think that the descriptors are fair, though; this is not what I would call "boutique", "upscale", or "luxury". The price was high for what was, in my view, just a standard hotel.

Very nice hotel, but plan to walk.

Overall a very good hotel, but plan to walk a little ways to get to the good restaurants and shopping area.

Cons: The in-room coffee in the non-suite rooms.
Location: Across the street from BC place and a block from Robson. Pacific Centre is walking distance.
Beds were comfortable and I liked the Aveda amenities. Hotel lobby is beautiful. Rooms are nice and spacious. It did get a little loud - not so much from my room neighbors or the hallway, but the outside. Can hear the traffic quite well. Price was good when comparing to other hotels during my search. Very busy in the city so I felt it was a good deal. Overall nice stay. I would come and stay again.

We had a great experience. The location could be better. We'd like to go back to Vancouver and would choose the same hotel.

Downtown luxury at a great price

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: Loved the Orchid Floor- as a solo female traveler, it feels safe to have a floor that's for women-only.
Cons: The only nit is that it's right next to the stadium and can be loud when the game lets out.
Location: Close to stadiums, near downtown, walk to seawall trail
Felt like a splurge, even though the room price was quite reasonable. Huge room with a great view of the city, lots of nice amenities in the building, and a great location in the middle of downtown.

Comfy room, nice location, but poor front desk

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: Room and amenity
Cons: Please hire more people for the front desk and train them properly.
The hotel is conveniently located near Library Square. There are many nice restaurants within walking distance. We stayed in a suite, and the room was large enough to accommodate 3 of us. The night view of the stadium from our room with light up was good. The bathroom was small and looked old. Needs renovation. Amenities and toiletries were very generous and of good quality. The worst thing about this hotel is the crowded entrance lobby and quality of front desk people. When we checked in, there was only one front desk guy even though there were many people trying to check-in. Further we were alarmed to find out that somehow our reservation was cancelled. We had received confirmation from Expedia as well as invitation to choose our room and text message that it was confirmed. Yet the agent says that our reservation was cancelled. After some argument, he re-booked our room and we could manage to stay there. We came home today to find out that the front desk woman left a message on our home phone on the day of check-in that they had issues with our credit card and needs a different card, or they will cancel the reservation. Well, by the time she called, we were probably on the way already. Why did she not try different phone number or send an e-mail or text me if I was not answering the phone at home? Further, I do not understand why the agent who checked us in did not explain why the reservation got cancelled. Poor communication.
