Our Happy Place

Posted Aug 31, 2015
Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: Would prefer to have 2 queen beds rather than 2 doubles. Families with children still travel together and need larger beds for sharing.
Location: Can't beat waking up and hearing the marina sounds. The coffee place with the great scones across from Cardero's is a must for early risers.
As usual, the Westin did not let us down. Coal Harbour rocks!

Excellent location, great staff.

Great location - right beside Stanley Park, the seawall, Coal Harbour, Van Acquarium. Hotel staff were very accomodating. Beautiful views of the harbour. The hotel rooms could use a little updating but we're very nice and we'll kept. Incredibly comfortable beds.

Awesome stay!

Great view, room, service and food. Home run!! Wish we could have stayed longer. All the amenities you need and even more convenience to local activities. Kids love the pools and great walking and running trails just out the door

Great for attending a conference

Posted Aug 13, 2015
This hotel clearly designed from a business clientele frame of mind, to accommodate large crowds of conference attendees, and not as a place to relax on a personal or romantic vacation. Vast halls brightly lit in neon, no cozy lobby or other relaxing seating areas. The lobby and long corridors have more of a feel and energy of an airport than a place to relax. The rooms are OK on account of the wonderfully comfortable bed, but are short on amenities, and the bathroom is small and cramped and has NO BATHTUB. The small closet is in the bathroom. The shower was mediocre too. Perfect for getting you out of the room efficiently in the morning to your business meeting... Not so great if you came hoping to relax and enjoy some luxury. Given the steep price of the room we expected more. All in all we were really disappointed and likely won't be back. On the positive side, great breakfast buffet ($28).

Beautiful location

Posted Aug 12, 2015
We had a stunning view frim our room of the harbor, and we loved the little balcony -- being able to stand out there, drinking coffee and taking in the view was spectacular. My kids also really enjoyed both the outdoor and indoor pools! Two things that could have been improved: -one evening I came back to hotel late and front doirs were locked. The reception people ignored me as I struggled to find my room key in my full briefcase. -the water in the shower stopped several times. Very awkward.

When we checked in we found an unused tampon on the chair. Room was nice and the location great. When we returned to the room after maid service they didn't close our door all the way.

Nice hotel, great location!

This hotel was in a great location, we were able to walk everywhere! The hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. The only downside is the price of the food - both room service and at the restaurants but if you join their loyalty club, you get 10% off. Would definitely stay here again!

A retreat in the big city

Posted Aug 6, 2015
I always feel like I can escape the crazy city here since it is tucked into the harbor facing Stanley Park.

Our view was awesome!

Posted Aug 5, 2015
Pros: Especially enjoyed the view from our room--looking out over the bay, gorgeous.
Cons: The shower--appeared to be new but was only partially enclosed with one glass door. Modern look was fine, but water splashed out all over the floor
Location: Capilano Suspension Bridge Park was fun and pretty. Looks like lots of restaurants/shopping nearby but didn't get to take advantage on this trip.
We were there for a very short stay but enjoyed it very much. Room was spacious, enjoyed the lounge/restaurant area, food was good.
