A lovely modern hotel in a good location for accessing most of the attractions in Rome. Rooms are all very modern and well- equipped and staff were helpful.

This hotel is on a narrow street a block from the river, a short walk to either Vatican City or the Travestere area. Michelangelo and the rest of the staff were very friendly and professional. If you're looking for a vista overlooking the city or a sunset view, a short, steep walk up the hill behind the hotel leads to Janinculum Hill, which offers both.

This hotel is conveniently located near some of the major attractions. Our room was small, but the hotel was neat. The staff were super helpful and made the experience even more enjoyable. The hotel is located in an "alleyway" - some cabs can get through and others will do a drop off on the main road where the hotel's sign is. The steps are dark at night, but we were fine. We actually found the hotel to be in line with some of the best dining options. Certain areas looked like alleyways, but they led to some of the most lively spots like Trastevere. We felt comfortable.

Stayed for 6 nights in July 2023. Very clean, well appointed hotel in a location very convenient for all of Rome’s attractions and dining options. Room was a good sized twin with a good sized bathroom and a view over the city. All the staff were attentive and friendly. The breakfast offered a good choice and the small bar was nice for a quiet drink.

The staff were very helpful in setting up travel arrangements. The location is a little unusual because off a dark passageway but the lobby and rooms are very nice.

Fantastic location
My daughter (24) and I stayed in room 402. The location was fantastic, allowed for easy access to all the big sites, a great venue to have a glass of wine overlooking the river, and enjoy a quiet sleep. The staff were personable and helpful. The hotel was clean and off the busy corridor, but close to transit. I / we would recommend this hotel to others and would stay there again.

The room was lovely and kept well clean. Location was great for access to the Vatican, and just a short walk across the river and there were plenty of nice restaurants. Also good access to the bus network.

It was neat looking but also smelled like mold or something. The air conditioning was also controlled by the front desk so you couldn’t adjust it.

Very well located and at walking distance of many key locations. For example, it is a few minutes away from Vatican City that could be the start of your visit. It is located in a back street so very quiet. Decent breakfast is served at this place for a good start of your walk. I would recommend for sure.

It is in a quite location, close to most attractions in Rome. We pretty much walked everywhere during our stay. The staff was kind and helpful. Only the entrance to the hotel via taxi is tight.

I needed to book two rooms on short notice so I didn’t have the luxury of time to research thoroughly. Because of this, I trusted the reviews and ratings of this hotel and booked for two nights. My first impression was already soured when instead of offering to help, the male concierge stood and watched as my mom struggled to open the door and get her luggage over the sloped entrance. Ok then, whatever. The concierge then tells us they lock the doors at midnight for safety and that was a huge red flag. Then we get into the elevator and it smells sour and dingy and it can barely fit two people. As for the room, it was more spacious than I was expecting but after walking barefoot for ten minutes the bottoms of my feet were absolutely filthy as if the floors hadn’t been mopped in months. The bed was way too firm even for European standards and the sheets and blankets wreaked so badly of detergent that I had to use my own blanket that I brought for the plane trip. My dad’s room didn’t even have any blankets anywhere on the bed or in the closet and the beds were so short his feet were hanging off the edge. The bathroom was very spacious but the door creaked so loudly it would easily wake someone up if opened/closed at night. If you go out at night be prepared to find men hanging out in the alleys drinking beer. Really bad experience all around and I seriously don’t understand the positive reviews of this place. I love a small boutique hotel but there’s nothing cozy here.

We really enjoyed our stay Hotel la Rovere. The front desk staff (shout out to Giuseppe in particular) was beyond accommodating when it came to finding transportation, choosing a restaurant, borrowing an iron, or whatever else we needed. We stayed in a top-floor room with a balcony, which offering charming views of the neighborhood behind the hotel beautiful views of the Tiber and the heart of Rome. Our room had a comfy bed, a small desk area, and a sitting area. Only knocks, probably: the shower is a pretty small and there's a little evidence of wear and tear in the room. And not only was it an easy 15–30-minute walk to most of the sites in Rome, but you're just a ten-minute stroll to the Trastavere neighborhood, which is rich with little cafés and trattorias. We loved our time here and would definitely stay again...especially in a top-floor room with a balcony :)

Great little hotwl
May 2022 - Great little hotel in the centre of Rome. Room was spacious, modern and really clean with a really good shower, air con, safe and plenty of storage space. Cleaned every day. Hotel staff were friendly and couldn't have done more to help. Located 10 mins from the centre, 10 mins from the Vatican and 20 mins from Trastevere - it is ideal. Breakfast is excellent also! Would 100% recommend and would happily book there again.

La Rovere 5 star except for transportation access
Everything about the hotel was a 5 for us. Two items that were issues. First, we used the hotel arranged transportation from the airport - the van broke down and the driver abandoned us locked inside a hot van while he went for water for the engine. This was the worst of a brutal trip from the airport. Second, the hotel location is on a side street and difficult for a taxi to access - Had to walk up a dark ally to get to the hotel at night.
