Very cramped hotel in Avignon

Posted Feb 5, 2017
Pros: Location was good
Cons: A bit of attention to the decor and some personality by staff
Location: Avignon is good place to use as base for western parts of Provence.
The internet flatters this hotel. It is totally impersonal and small.

On your arrival you were not happy to be on the ground floor with view to the small street although this is exactly what you have reserved, the economic studio. The size of the studio with the large walk in shower is 18m2 and herewith above the standards of 3* rooms of the same category. We would recommend to customers who would like to have a living room and who travel with a lot of bagages to reserve one of our one bedroom apartments or the duplex for some euros more. Aparently you enjoyed the kitchentte as you could save some money by making the meals yourself instead of going to the restaurant all the time.

Great location - quiet yet close

Posted Oct 11, 2016
On our arrival, we had difficulty finding parking & finding our way into the city where needed. On top of this we did not count on the drive from Arles to take 3 hours (lots of traffic and a wacky GPS route) so we arrive late and harried. Sabine was kind enough to wait for us about an hour. She greeted us kindly and efficiently. House rules a clear. The apartment is near everything. We loved going to The Halles market in the morning for cafe & croissants; and for picnic supplies for the day's outings. Because we thoroughly enjoy the Roman Antiquities present in the area, it was helpful to live in a town full of them plus a short drive from Pont Gard. Nimes & Orange are also within day-trip distance.

A nice hotel next to the very centre of Avignon.

Posted Sep 22, 2016
Pros: The friendliness and attention to detail by the owner and staff. They were always helpful, and clearly wanted to make our holiday enjoyable,
Cons: Nothing
Location: All of the main attractions, the Popes Palace for instance, were within easy walking distance from the hotel. as were the cafes and restaurants.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 14 days. We could come and go at any time, which left us free to explore the city and Provence in our own time, making decisions from day to day. We could lunch in our hotel room if we were tired from visits, with fresh food bought from local shops, just like at home. This helped make it a very relaxing holiday. The room was provided with everything necessary and was immaculately clean.

We are glad to know that you consider our guesthouse (not an hotel)an ideal base for discovering Avignon & Provence and thank you very much for choosing us for your recent stay and also for sharing your impressions regarding our services, location and staff ! What could we add? . We do not need to propose a palace to make our guests happy.

Great little boutique hotel.

Posted Jun 11, 2016
Really nice place. Hostess was nice and provided a map of the city with some instructions on where things were. You can quickly walk to everything from here. Nothing in the Avignon city walls is more than a 5 or 10 min walk from here. The room was beautiful, clean. Nice little sitting garden. Really good place.

Choose room carefully

Posted Mar 23, 2016
The aparthotel itself is charming, and we saw a 2-room suite that would have warranted a 5. However, we had a 2-room suite (rooms 4-5) that was two small standalone rooms with exposed plastic plumbing, and a fiberglass shower stall of a similar size to one on a train.

we thank you for taking time to write a review. Let us talk about studio number 4 with a shower of 1M2 (one square meter). Is it similar than on a train? What else?

Nice little hotel tucked away but central

Posted Oct 21, 2015
Pros: Its central location and comfortable beds
Location: Very central and in easy short walking distance to all the sites. Great local restaurants a short walk from the hotel.
Really friendly owner welcomed us and showed us to our rooms. Neat and comfortable. They don't have a bar or restaurant it is more an aparthotel with a kitchenette in the room. I didn't intend to use this and the room would be small if you did want to, but there are great restaurants etc in easy walking distance. Comfortable bed and quiet.

It is right : it isn't an hotel. Our rooms are not the bigger rooms in our amazing city but they have a standard size and they are comfortable, cute, well decorated … and we offer the most beautiful and sincere smile

Clean, small apartment near the city center

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness, small apartment atmosphere. Good security system in place.
Cons: Perhaps suggestions re: parking, directions prior to checking in.
Location: The location was very good in terms of easy access to the city, or transportation to tourist sites.
We had great difficulty locating this hotel, got lost, and once we found it, it appeared to be a small German embassy, with a large shield affixed to the front of the building. We ended parking in a remote lot outside the city (which was free) and had easy transport back to the city center. We were greeted by one of the owners, who was very efficient and precise about our sign-in, and the rules of the building. The apartment, itself, was very small, clean and functional for no more than two people. It had a tiny kitchen area with sink, 2-top stove, microwave, small refrigerator. All of the dishes were provided and functional. They had to be cleaned and returned to their places in the kitchen before check out! The advantages were that it was within easy walking distance of the city centers, restaurants and tourist-sites or transportation to the sites. All-in-all, it was a great space to sleep at night, and perhaps prepare a small meal, but nothing else. That's exactly why it suited us, since we are rarely in our rooms, for our 3 night stay in Avignon.

Thank you for your feedback about your stay with us. Whilst we are pleased to note that you appreciated our warm welcome, the equipment and cleanliness of your studio. Each and every room is individually decorated and the layout in this 17th century building can vary from one to another within each room category. For more comfort we propose a one bedroom apartment who has added to the bedroom a cosy living room, best to make you feel like at home away from home. We are committed to not only taking the best care of our guests whilst they are with us but also in the way that we communicate pre and post stay. The welcome mail that every customer receives on reservation from our behalf contains a lot of precious information and also information about parking, train shuttles, a map and the invitation to contact us prior to arrival if there are any questions. We very much hope Autour du Petit Paradis is to become your new Avignon home and look forward to welcoming you back next time you'll come to Provence.

Perfect place to stay in Avignon!

Posted Jun 3, 2015
Pros: Just lovely, lots of nice little nooks. A very comfortable bed - which is so welcoming after a long day of touring.
Cons: I was on the top floor and some nights the stairs were a bit tiring, but once I got settled in everything was great.
Location: On a side street, only a short walk to many restaurants and lots of shops to pick up sweets and groceries.
Tucked away on a side street, it provided the perfect oasis from the noisy main streets. Once Sabine, a most generous and informative host, explained to me where I was it was so easy to find everything and just explore. Although I had a small studio apt., it provided ample space and was very quaint.
