clean and great locationPosted Oct 5, 2015
Cons: Reception staff could be more caring and helpful
Location: the hotel is around the corner from the train station and the Grand Canal
The location is great, just around the corner from the train station. If you have never been to Venice I would not recommend staying too far into the heart of the city because you have to lug your bags on and off crowded boats which is a real hassle. The hotel was clean but very basic, we had a private bathroom and A/C and a nice touch was a very small balcony. Warning! there is no elevator and there is a lot of stairs. The breakfast in the morning was worth the 7 euro, you won't find a better deal in Venice. My only complaint would be the reception person, we got to the hotel a hour before check in which was at 1pm, we had lunch then returned and waited in the lobby in full view of the check-in, 1pm came and went and he said nothing, finally I went to the desk, our room was ready, I wonder how long he would have let us wait till he told us.

Accueil sympa.

Good locationPosted Sep 22, 2015
Good location from the Roma piazza which made it easy to get €8 transfer from the airport. It doesn't take long to walk the length of Venezia and due to starting location was easy to find way back through the maze by following "per Roma". Hotel was clean and tidy. 3x flights of stairs are knackering though. Air con worked but pillows not that comfortable. Good value for money though.

Great hotel with exceptional value for moneyPosted Sep 20, 2015
Pros: Value for money, especially for travellers on a tight budget, comfortable bed, Clean, Check-in staff
Cons: due to no air conditioning, perhaps a mosquito net over the bed.
Location: walk from Plaza del Roma and Train station, Vaporetto stop within 5 min.
Booked at very last minute for a one night layover in Venice. Hotel location within 7min walk from Plaza Roma (hire car returns) or 5 min walk from railway station. Hotel address will show 99b Calle Priuli Ai Cavalletti, but check-in is at 99a Calle Priuli Ai Cavalletti. Rooms on third floor no air con, but windows could be left open at night. We booked a room with shared bathroom (three bathroom to chose from), with was spotlessly clean at all times and never a problem to use a shower or toilet. Room had small very functional kitchenette and a small balcony with chairs and table. Hotel has NO lift, please take into consideration when packing. Hotel check-in staff was very friendly and helpful with tips and a map. Lane way to the hotel has restaurant option and will be a bit noisy, but after midnight it will be quite. At AUD125.00/night I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Bring mozzie repellent, if you sleep with open window.

Great base for a short break!!!Posted Sep 16, 2015
Great location, good facilities, excellent price! I would definitely return... a softer mattress and pillow would be a huge bonus. Thanks for your hospitality!!

A budget hotel in a good locationPosted Sep 15, 2015
Pros: It's ideal on a budget, provided you're fit and happy to walk the length and breadth. Which is one of Venice's essential pleasures, I'd say.
Cons: I wasn't provided with enough insect repellent tablets for the plug-in, even though soaps and shampoos were replenished. (Also, a lift!)
Location: As far from all the main sights as you can be on the island, I suppose... but that still means walking/boat-catching distance! Venice is not large.
Not my first stay at the Alloggi Agli Artisti, so the fact I was keen to return there says it all really. It's essentially 'no frills' – a real workout climb up the stairs to the upper floors (no lift) and basic, clean rooms. Everything you need (breakfast if you want it – but this time I preferred to wander into the streets for a different lovely café each morning). Venice can be very expensive, so it's a good idea to save money on accommodation – and this is an efficiently run hotel conveniently on the island itself. Also, it is very near the train and coach/causeway arrival point – and there is a Grand Canal ferry stop directly at the end of the hotel's alleyway if you prefer to get to San Marco by the (other) scenic route. (ALL routes in Venice are scenic!)

loved the staff.Posted Sep 9, 2015
Pros: i loved how nice the staff was. they made me feel very comfortable. especially when it came to my 2yr old
Location: the location of the hotel is right around the corner from the train station. less then 5 min away, literally
love the staff. very helpful & polite. i was traveling with my daughter, & 2 y/o son. at around 1am, my son decided to wake up & ask for some milk. i asked the staff if they had any milk, so i wouldn't have to go out. staff member, said " of course i can give you some milk just give me the bottle & how warm do you need it" amazing, loved that.

Nice hotel close to train station/canalPosted Sep 2, 2015
This little B&B is just beside the train station down a quiet alley that could make it difficult to find at first. It is an older building so there is no elevator and we stayed on the top floor. You have an option of having your own bathroom but the 3 bathrooms they have on each floor are just as clean and are mostly vacant. The room was clean with a nice little terrace so my girlfriend could smoke.we were there in August so Venice was packed with other tourists and the main streets were always busy so this hotel was a plus to be able to get away from the loud main streets where most other hotels are. The staff was also very good and helpful they earned extra points by allowing us to keep our bags there all day while we waited for our overnight train late at night. Overall great the stairs were the only con as well as not having your own bathroom if that bothers you.

Ruhiges Hotel in BahnhofnähePosted Sep 1, 2015
