The real Venice?

Posted Jun 22, 2016
Pros: Ideal for a couple. Central location. Privacy compared to a hotel room.
Location: Ideal for exploring Venice and easy to get to with luggage - no bridges between Vaporetto stop and apartment.
We were met as arranged by Laura at the Vaporetto stop by the Rialto Bridge for our 3 night stay. A 2 minute walk and we were at the apartment, up a busy little Venetian shopping street. Up a small staircase and you are at the apartment door. The apartment is spacious for 2 with a comfortable living area with a small kitchen and a quirky kitchen table - you soon get used to it's wobble. Spacious fridge for the drinks. The bedroom has a good sized double bed, wardrobe and small TV. Finally a small but usable galley bathroom with shower. Only minor issue is lack of air conditioning but floor standing fan well used. The heat in the apartment may be a bigger issue in July/August, but that is true for the whole of Venice in summer. The apartment is not elegant palazzo, more like working venetian and the noises through the windows, and the sights all around the apartment really make you feel that you are in the real Venice, not cocooned in a hotel. 2 minutes to Rialto, 10 minutes to St Marks and 10 minutes across to views/Vaporetto across to Murano.

Posted Apr 1, 2015 on Hotels

Compact, rustic and charming.

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: That it's NOT a hotel. Rustic and different.
Cons: Free sheets and towels. Wifi.
Location: Close to Rialto Bridge and waterbus terminals but slightly away from the tourist track/piazzas. Easy walks to San Marco, San Polo district etc.
This is not a hotel. Laura met us at the terminal (use waterbus Line 2 to Rialto to avoid steps) and we had a lovely week in her little apartment. It is compact and old with timber beams, but in a fabulous position near the Rialto Bridge and on an almost direct line through winding lanes and bridges to San Marco. We loved it, but be aware that it has a tiny bathroom and no air con or wifi. Fans cooled us well. Terrific seafood diagonally across the road. We felt like we were living like locals. We could take time out to have lunch at home and then a nap. Additional cost for towels and linen was unexpected. If you're in for a non-hotel experience, you may love this.

Appartamento vicino ponte di Rialto

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: La vicinanza a Rialto
Cons: Il bagno, decisamente piccolo.

sconsigliato, bagno molto scomodo.

Posted Jul 19, 2013 on Hotels

Pros: Location
Cons: Shower no water pressure
Location: Awesome
This is an apartment owed by somebody who rents it out to tourists, so it is not a hotel of serviced apartment as such. However it is a great location on a few min walk to Rialto Bridge and San Marco, Laura the owner is lovely the apartment is clean. Howev it is up to you to maintain this as it is does not get serviced. I loved it and thought it was great.
