Grear locationPosted Sep 28, 2015
Lovely hotel, very good locaion, the staff were all freindly.the breakfast was Ok. The bed was comfy the bathroom lovely. My only complaint was the unit that housed the TV,fridge and safe had a pull out table (the only surface in the room) which had to be pushed in to switch off the light, consequently each night you had to put bits and peices onto a chair, likewise when acssessing the fridge and TV. Small thing but very annoying.

Hotel by the AccademiaPosted Sep 20, 2015
Not the best area of hotels. The staff were decent but not overly friendly or helpful. Rooms were a bit outdated.

Pros: Good location. Very close to two vaporetto stops.
Cons: Wifi was not working on days we were there because of maintenance.
Helpful staff in arranging transportation from air port beforehand as arrived very late.

Tres bel Hotel, tres bien placéPosted Aug 22, 2015

Posted Aug 16, 2015

Nice and quirky hotel in a really good locationPosted Aug 10, 2015
We used this hotel for a 1 night stay in Venice before travelling to Rovinj by ferry. The ferry port is just around the corner and the hotel's location is perfect because it's in walking distance to all the touristy bits without feeling overrun itself. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the interior of the hotel is modern with a quirky touch. We only stayed in the hotel for a night but on our way back from Rovinj we had another day in Venice and the hotel staff were so kind to store our luggage even though we weren't staying for the night, exceptional service!

Brilliant hotel great staffPosted Aug 4, 2015
The hotel was close to all the main attractions and located just back from Accademia bridge. Lovely rooms with unlimited tea and coffee facilities. The entire staff we're helpful and went out of their way to greet us and offer assistance. The breakfast was really impressive and the waiter was charming. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all.

Friendly staff, excellent locationPosted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: The staff, the room, the breakfast, the location. The owner hosted a happy hour at 6.30pm on the Thursday, offering complimentary drinks and nibbles.
Cons: Nothing in my books.
Location: The hotel is in the Dorsoduro region and is only 10-15 minutes' walk from St Mark's Square, straight over the Accademia Bridge, or a short vaporetto.
We stayed at this hotel for three nights in July. Right from the off the staff were friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. We were given a map of Venice and the receptionist took time to explain the local attractions and their location. We were shown to our room by Luigi who carefully explained all the features of the room. The room was plenty big enough and the bathroom was clean and long, with a deluge shower at the end. The room had air conditioning and there wasn't a hint of mosquitoes, which had been a concern of ours prior to travel. The breakfast was very good: as well as the usual continental fare I managed to find a metal tray holding bacon, sausage and scrambled egg! To get to the hotel from Marco Polo airport, we bought a return ticket on the Venice Express bus from the ATVO window (15 euros). After a 25 minute direct journey we arrived at Piazzale Roma and bought a 72 hour vaporetto (water bus) ticket for 40 euros each at the Hello Venice window. The vaporettos are just down the adjacent steps. If you can't work out which vaporetto to take in which direction, go for the No. 2 because it either goes anti-clockwise and you get off at Zaterre, or clockwise and you get off at Accademia.
