The hotel is a little cozy classic Venice style hotel. Very clean room and excellent bathroom. Good heating in the bathroom which feel so warm for November travel. The location is actually convenient, very close to piazza Roma. But a little tricky to find. Very friendly and helpful staffs, giving us great route to walk around Venice as well as bus info.

Good location, very friendly and helpful owners.
Good location, a bit hard to find but we got there eventually. Breakfast was small but good. Our first hotel in Italy as we arrived in Venice for our 3 weeks. The room was a bit small but it was ok. The bed was quite firm and found this a common things in Italy that was hard for us to adjust to. Great owners and very friendly and helpful.

Well above the expectations
Hotel is strategically located between the major travel hub and the city center. The surrounding is really great and it is less crowded. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is very friendly. Breakfast was above our expectation. Good and quiet air conditioner.

Centrally located. Family owned, they were the sweetest. They left breakfast for us for next morning as we were leaving early. We met them only once during check in as we were out the whole day and came back late in the night. Basic simple clean hotel if you need a clean place to stay. Quiet area, close to railway station and water bus stations.

Just had an amazing few day in Venice - Thoroughly recommend staying at this lovely hotel,extremely clean, couldn't fault it ! Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was a 5 minute walk from bus station and water taxi's.

Check in was quick and the room was specious and clean. Pro: location is central and really close to the train station and bus station. You can go anywhere from there either walking or with the vaporetto. Breakfast is ok. I had the room number one which was on the ground floor and it was spacious. Cons: my room was right by the breakfast kitchenette and it was noisy from very early as they were preparing breakfast. This was something easily solved as we bought hear plugs. The room got really hot during the night and there was no way to control the temperature panel. Not a big deal tho. Also the hotel is not manned 24/7 so just keep that in mind, do let them know what time are you checking in and out. Overall if you want to stay is a very well connected area this is the hotel for you. It’s not a 5star hotel but if your intention is to have a decent hotel to just sleep at go ahead and book it.

On 6 April 2019, our family of four were checking out of the Hotel Al Malcanton after a 2-night stay. We approached the female staff at the breakfast counter for our thermal flask to be filled with hot water, so that the kids could have milk on the flight later that day. A few hours later, we tasted the water to test its temperature and were appalled to discover that the flask had been filled with EXTREMELY SALTY WATER. It is obvious that we were travelling with 2 young toddlers and the water would have been for them. Whatever the reason could have been (unwillingness to help with the boiling of water because it was near the end of breakfast time or even a demanding guest), it just goes to show what sort of inhumanely nasty person we've encountered, it does not justify the intent of causing such harm to your guests, or worst, children. All you had to do was tell us you couldn't help. We are thankful that we had tested the water before giving it to our babies, and we pray it was nothing more harmful than just water with salt.

hotel was a ittle hard to find, because the name was not on the building. Room was a little small for 4 adults, but that was no big deal only need to sleep. Basic breakfast. Staff was excellent. Next time I'm in Venice I would definitely stay there.

Great location. Easy to access main bus terminal with a short 5 minute walk. Hotel was quaint and clean. Service was very pleasant and accommodating. Several good places to eat within 10 minute walk was a plus. Wi-fi was very good, always a plus when traveling with kids.

Fantastic place
I loved this place, very spacious rooms and tastel, reception very welcoming, and a delicious free hot breakfast. Great central location close to Piazalle Roma bus to airport and train station. The neighbourhood is very quaint and not as touristy as say the Rialto Bridge area, but this turned out to be a welcome surprise. Cute stores restaurants and pubs along the canal at night, found a great pub on the canal in 5 minutes with live music outside was so much fun. Also a public square nearby , a university or college whose name I forget but nice walks in that area too. A great community to go at night to wind down and have a good rest from the Rialto bridge tourists. Get a good rest here then head out the next day to explore.

OK for a short break
We were happy that this hotel is near Piazzale Roma and only had to negotiate two bridges (one with steps) to get there. The hotel is very small and is apparently only on the ground floor. Luckily we had a photo to let us know where it was as there's no obvious sign. The good points: near to Piazzale Roma, clean room, modern bathroom, adequate breakfast. Breakfast was rolls, croissants, yoghurt, cereal, orange juice, coffee or tea and cheese, ham and salami - plenty for a morning's walking. Bad points: a grumpy owner, very small room, nowhere safe to leave cases on the last day. There is free wi-fi but no way to print off your boarding pass, and the breakfast room is actually the corridor to the bedrooms! That was where we had to leave our luggage. On our first day we asked for two extra pillows which were "not available" due to a full house. The next day we got one pillow but "due to a misunderstanding" did not get our room cleaned. When we asked one of the friendly female receptionists, she came and made the beds. We didn't mind not having clean towels or anything else as we were about to go out again. The room itself was quite dark as it is in a small square with high buildings around it, and the windows are high off the ground. Being small there was very little space to put our cases.It has free wi-fi but no way to print off boarding passes. -

Very deserted location and hard to find.
While not too far from the port, this hotel is very difficult to find. There is no signage, and I walked passed it several times without realizing it. Also, it is in a deserted location and it is very dark at night when walking back from restaurants. The room was not clean, with hairs (from who knows who/where) in the bathroom shower and floor. Lastly, the breakfast area was tight to say the least, and the breakfast options were minimal. Thankfully, we stayed only one night.

A reasonable and comfortable budget hotel
It is a reasonable budget hotel. We were given an attic/loft room and, being a tall person, I did not find very comfortable. If that was not an attic room, I would have given it a much better score. The staff are nice and friendly. The hotel is situated in a peaceful and quiet area, a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The WIFI signal was very bad, almost nonexistent.

Nice quiet hotel to stay in
From Marco Polo airport we got the bus from stand 2 to Pizziale Roma bus station. To find the hotel from the bus station look around and you'll see Hotel Arlecchino in the corner of the bus park, walk towards there and you will come across a set of steps to get out of the bus park and onto the footpath. There's a double flight of stairs to walk straight over and that takes you on to Rio Del Magazen which you can see on the wall across from the canal. Walk straight down the footpath literally until you can't walk straight anymore. There's a bridge to your left and the footpath goes to the right and on the building on the right it says Fondamenta Del Gaffaro and Ponte Marcello. Turn right there, in front of you is building number 3593, walk towards that and then turn right. ``You will see in front of you the biscuit colour hotel on the left. There are no signs outside. The room was clean and in a quiet area. The breakfast was good too. The staff were courteous and friendly.

There is nothing bad about the hotel. Everything is perfect! The boss may look unfriendly but he is a very nice guy. Breakfast is simple but awesome! Will definitely recommend it to friends and family.

It was a value for money hotel, nothing fancy, but with all the basic amenities provided. The location was quite good, walkable from the Venezia S Lucia station and also to the places of interest and places to eat. Drawbacks- The breakfast had very limited options and there were only 2 channels on the tv, with no English channels. There was no sign with the hotel name. So we had to call up the reception to identify the building. However, these were just minor issues, and shouldn't stop you from staying at this place. Overall it was a good experience.

Quaint hotel close to train station
Styled hotel very close to train station, which is well worth it considering there are no taxis or transport in Venice so you would need to walk with your bags. Approx 30 minute walk to main square but good for exploring. Plenty of restaurants nearby also. Staff were not as friendly as we are used to in Australia, but hotel was clean and breakfast fine. Rooms were surprisingly large which was great. Would stay here again.

The location is fairly far from St Marks Piazza about 30 minutes walking, but about 10 minutes to the bus and train station on Venice Island. The room was smaller than expected, although the bathroom was larger than expected and it also appeared to have been recently renovated. The room and bathroom were both clean. The only issue we had was that the air conditioning was not working as the man at reception refused to turn it on. He had explained that they were only allowed to turn it on once it went past a certain temperature due to a regulation in Venice/Italy, which I found very odd.

This is certainly far from a "hotel" . A few rooms on a ground level - wth a tight reception / lobby/ breakfast area all in one . Staff are unfriendly and unhelpful . We were not even greeted upon arrival - barely lifted his head from his computer . Room was okay- Clean but pretty dated . Mini bar did not work and smelled of rotting fish - Management did not even bother to come Check on it or fix it during our 3 night stay , even though we notified them upon arrival . This property is listed as non smoking but owner stands right by entrance smoking non stop so the entire lobby area as well as rooms ( ours was adjacent to lobby) all smelled like stale smoke . Overall , it was not a pleasant experience and we would not recommend .

Hotel does not have a name outside you have to look for the number. There are trip advisor stickers on the door. With bus station on your right and Grand Canal to your left walk bridge in front of you then take bridge to left where there is a florist and cafe. Walk this path to the end. turn right and hotel can be found within courtyard on the right. Good restaurants just over the Al Malcanton bridge. Good wi-if and adequate breakfast.

The small hotel, the Hotel Al Malcanton, is in a quiet neighborhood/area with easy access to many of the attractions and sights. All rooms are on the first floor, there is free wifi, and a moderate continental-style breakfast (from 8:30 to 10am) is included. Other guests were a mix of Italian and foreign tourists. My spouse and I stayed at the Hotel Al Malcanton during the third week in October 2015. It was very quiet and we had no problems. The owner/manager and his two assistants are friendly enough. There is not a street-facing reception and it is actually located in the hotel, so you may need to buzz them first at the outside door in order to get in.
