The hotel is located in a local neighborhood about 12 min walk from Mestre Train station. We (two girls) got in at about 10 pm on a Thursday night and it got pretty scary to walk to the hotel as we were constantly approached by men wanting to pick us up. Friday night was much better when we returned as there were more people on the streets. During the day it seems like a friendly neighborhood though.
Room is very clean, small and basic; wouldn't complain with the price we paid for. However the hotel has terribly thin walls so if you're a light sleeper be sure to bring ear plugs. Breakfast is alright with eggs, bacon, bread, cereals, fruits and a good selection of tea, coffee and artificial juices.
Some of the staffs have bad attitude (like most parts of Italy), but some are helpful and informative; so it all depends on how lucky you are.
There is a bus stop across the road that goes straight into Venice for 1.50 Euro; and an airport shuttle at the end of the road (about 10 min walk) for 8 Euro that goes straight to Venice Marco Polo airport in around 15 minutes. The shuttle comes every 20 min but be sure to check the timetable at the hotel lobby. There is also a supermarket right next to the hotel and a McDonald's & another supermarket down the road.
