Traditional gentile Italian hotel on Venice LidoPosted Sep 21, 2015
Pros: Location, peacefulness, elegance. friendly helpful staff
Cons: Nothing comes to mind
Location: Hotel has private beach in summer (until mid September) reached by bus, bike or walk. Are a few shops and places to eat near Vaporetta station
This quiet hotel stands back from the road immediately next to the waterside, the approach being shaded with mature trees which is where the bar is situated. Elegant steps lead up to the marbled lobby area which has a traditionally furnitured sitting room on one side. The breakfast room and restaurant are also in this building. Our room was in a different building reached by walking through a small garden area with an ornamental pond and seating. This building has a small lift so if this is required let the hotel know you prefer a room here. Our room (which was for 3) was of medium size and had a separate dressing room, small bathroom and 3 large windows with Roman blinds and was decorated with textile "wallpaper". The 3rd bed was a sofa bed in an area separated by a wall and there was a small sofa in the main part of the room. The shower was over the bath. Breakfast was the usual European selection cereal, fruit, juices, pastries, scrambled egg, cheese and meats plus a few regional additions. We only ate in the restaurant once but the food was good. The staff were efficient and friendly and most spoke English. The Mabapa can easily be reached by bus (A) , just 3 stops from the Vaporetta landing ( Lido Marie Elisabetta) and which was usually there to meet the boat. Travelling to the city was trouble free. We enjoyed our stay here in the relative peace of the Lido.

superb hotel in a perfect settingPosted Sep 21, 2015
We returned for the second time this year because we liked it so much, why it hasn't earned a full 5.0 rating I can't imagine, The staff are great, friendly helpful and efficient, the setting is beautiful, the rooms comfortable, well appointed and spotlessly clean and the restaurant serves very good food at reasonable prices. The hotel faces the lagoon and is a 10 - 15 minute walk along to the Elisabetha vaporetti stop, it's a very pleasant walk but if you don't want to walk it a bus stops very close by every 20 minutes and your vaporetto pass gets you a free ride along to Elisabetha for restaurants, cafes and of course gelato shops. The trip across to the city takes just a few minutes from there If you decide to spash out on a water taxi from the airport (expensive but worth it ! ) the hotel has it's own jetty What more could you want

Ruhig gelegene Villa mit Blick auf Venedig.Posted Sep 2, 2015
Pros: Die Lage und das sehr bemühte Personal.
Cons: WLAN, Sauberkeit der Sitzmöbel im Garten.
Location: Das Hotel liegt in Strand- und Venedig-Nähe. Man kann also baden und staunen.
Freundliches Personal, kleine Zimmer - aber alles drin, was man braucht. Gutes Frühstücksangebot. Überhöhte Getränkepreise. Schlechtes WLAN.

The hotel was lovely and you get the best of both worlds, the beach during the day then a boat to Venice in the evenings. The staff were very nice and made an effort with our little boy. My only complaint was that hotels.com allow you to book a double room with 2 adults and a 2yr old yet no sleeping arrangements were made for my son and the hotel expected him to sleep in the double bed with me and his dad!!!!! However after a bit of complaining the manager was very accommodating and moved us to a room with 3 beds, overall think it was a good choice. Would stay again just make sure I booked enough beds.

Nice Hotel with Lovely Grounds and Wonderful ViewsPosted Aug 11, 2015
Pros: The gardens, our balcony and the location near the lagoon
Cons: They definitely need more staff and each staff member doing a certain job instead of everybody trying to do everything.
Location: The lagoon is right across the street.
Really lovely and quiet hotel that is right across the street from the Venice Lagoon. The grounds are beautiful with the outside restaurant and bar/café in their front garden under large shady trees. The hotel is a little dated but clean and comfortable. We had a room in the back building with a balcony that looked over the garden and it was lovely. It is about a 20 minute walk to the main Vaporetto stop into Venice from the Lido but there is a bus stop just down the street from the hotel. It is not a great hotel for people with mobility problems. There are lots of steps even in the buildings with lifts. They did seem very short staffed with all staff running around trying to do everything. Saying that, we have stayed there before and I am sure we will be back.

Lido over Venice any day!Posted Aug 4, 2015 on Hotels
I loved this hotel. I was a little nervous about staying a short ferry ride away from the canals of central Venice but I'm so happy we did. Not only was the staff genuinely friendly and helpful, the food was lovely, the room was ideal and we loved getting away from the chaos at the end of each day. I loved how safe Lido was as well.

Poor experience, extremely dissapointedPosted Jul 29, 2015 on Hotels
Very disappointed with the level of service we received at hotel Mabapa. We choose this hotel based on hotels.com review scores, but this hotel fell well short on this occasion. My wife and young son stayed at hotel Mabapa for four nights during which we had absolutely no air conditioning in 35oc -38oc heat. We were given no notification of this at check-in and subsequently had absolutely zero follow up or apology. After reporting the issue over 5 times and 5 strongly worded emails I finally recieved a phone call at 9.30pm the night before we were due to leave offering to move rooms. Too little too late! Staff appeared unmotivated, poorly trained and ratios to hotel guests were far too low. Rooms were dated, cables were left exposed and bathroom had. leaking taps Breakfast and meal times were also farcical and selection was very average. Again no air conditioning made it pretty unbearable and not ideal with food being left out. Our whole experience just seemed inconvenient for them with tuts, sighs, shrugs of the shoulders and poor excuses. To compound this I called and emailed Hotels.com 4/5 times and have had very poor follow up which was also extremely disappointing. I am now still waiting for a follow up call and refund from Hotels.com
