Great hotel on quiet island

Posted Aug 25, 2016
Pros: New and nice. Great comfy bed.
Cons: More availability of advertised amenities. It is one thing to have a free shuttle, it is another to be able to use it.
Location: Great little quiet island close to Venice but away from the throngs.
If you don't want to stay in Venice but want to be close then book this. Great, new hotel that is a short boat ride to all the craziness of Venice but on Murano which, between 1800 and 0800 when all the glass factory tourists go home and before the next wave returns, feels like a small quiet little Italian town. They have skimped a bit on the amenities - good luck booking their courtesy shuttle or a massage - but everything you need is there. The price is right too. For Venice in the high season you can't beat it.

Brilliant Stay

Posted Aug 24, 2016
I am very glad I chose this hotel! It was so clean, the staff were so helpful and polite. The location was great, right outside was a waterbus stop which was great to access all the Venice islands. The hotel also offered an airport transfer service which was always on time and very convenient. Would definitely stay again.

Great new hotel - Murano, Venice Lagoon, Italy

Posted Aug 9, 2016
Pros: Everything in the hotel is new, the rooms are comfortable, with everything you need for your comfort. There are however no hairdryers in the bathrooms
Cons: The 18 euro breakfast buffet is quite extensive. Dinner also had a few pretentious 18 euro dishes such as my 2 x 3 inch eggplant parmigiana.
Location: Murano - glass production; Burano- colourful island known for lace production; Torcello - UNESCO site for cathedral and mosaics; Lido - sandy beaches
This beautiful hotel has been built inside the shell of an old glass factory. and quite close to the Museum of Glass on the island of Murano. The hotel is also a showcase/musum of beautiful glass works of art and chandeliers. It is conveniently situated at the Museo waterbus stop, so it is easily accessible to the Venice attractions as well as the islands of Burano and Torcello. It also provides a complimentary shuttle, a la James Bond Casino Royale, from the airport to the hotel and between the hotel and Venice. If you want to go on your own schedule I would suggest buying the ACTV public waterbus pass for 2, 3 or 7 days, depending on your holiday time frame. They all have interior seats as well as open-air seats at the back. The waterbuses go through many of the canals, including the Grande Canal, around all the Venice Islands and across to Lido providing a great view of most of the incredible architecture of Venice. Venice is not for those not prepared to walk everywhere on pavement stones and up and down bridges. - no cars or bicycles allowed.

Quiet, relaxing and honeymoon perfect!

Posted Aug 7, 2016
Booking the La Gare hotel was the best choice we could've made for our honeymoon. The hotel staff were so helpful and friendly when helping us navigate around Murano and Venice. The room was very clean and modern, not to mention the celebratory champagne that was waiting for us upon arrival! If you are looking for an elegant and quiet getaway spot, La Gare is the place to stay.

Très bel hôtel luxueux à Murano

Posted Aug 5, 2016

Romantic Get-away

Posted Aug 3, 2016
Pros: Cool and stylish hotel in an excellent location, just far enough from Venice to get away from the crowds.
Cons: It would be nice if breakfast were included
We chose this hotel due to its location close to Venice. Its a 10min hop by hotel boat from the airport and another 10min into Venice itself. It certainly didn't disappoint! Beautiful Hotel set next to one of the main canals running through Murano. Clean and very stylish and situated right next to Museo vaporetta stop so getting about couldn't be any easier. Great 3 night stay and wouldn't hesitate to come back again in the future.
