Good 3 star hotelPosted Aug 19, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness of the room, fridge and coffee machine in the room.
Cons: For a building this age none
Location: close to beach and touristic sites and the city park
Hotel Building is old. My room was small with a queen bed. Parking was convenient. I had cricket in the room that would not stop whistling. I asked the front office to check it out. They put me in a bigger room with 2 queens. The inside of the room is nicely remodeled and the A/c is a split unit with no noise or rattling. The free Breakfast was excellent with a big variety and the staff is friendly. You cannot beat the location and I had a good night sleep.

Sauberes Hotel nahe Downtown und Beach VenturaPosted Aug 18, 2015
Pros: - Lage - Sauberkeit der Zimmer - Komfort - Frühstück
Cons: - Personal eher unfreundlich

The small things matterPosted Aug 16, 2015
Railroad tracks nearby are a source of noise but train can be heard all over downtown Ventura. Internet connection was very slow. Electrical outlet in lamp base was useless, I had to unplug the lamp and use that socket for my computer. Air condiotioning took a long time to have an effect. Next time in the area I wont stay here. I will pay a little more for better hotel.

Pros: Remodeled and very clean
Cons: Have you ever thought about a shuttle to the beach?
Nicer than it looks by the surroundings. We were very pleased with the bathroom.

Some problems, but some good pointsPosted Aug 8, 2015
Pros: See above.
Cons: See above.
Location: The hotel is near Main Street, with restaurants, the famous Mission, etc. But f you go a block east there is a footbridge to the pier and beach.
The room had a separate dressing area, as well as a refrigerator and a microwave. Although it is right by the train tracks and I am a light sleeper, I had no problem with the noise. But there was a problem with the toilet not working properly, which they of course fixed, and the phone needed to be turned on before it could be used, which is something I haven't seen before. And there were a few little things that were odd: the hairdryer in the bathroom is placed on the wall so that the cable covers the light switch, and the doorstop on the bathroom door holds the door in a half-open position. Also, it took a long time for the hot water to come up.

Average hotel. Easy walking distance to Beach.Posted Aug 4, 2015
Close to downtown shopping area. I like Ventura because it is not as crowed as the other area of the California beaches. The Harbor is nice quiet yet busy. The people of Ventura are friendly. The Surf Shop on the Harbor area is run by a very friendly and informative person. The only bad part of our trip was California freeway traffic.

No elevator to 2nd Floor rooms.Posted Jul 9, 2015
Pros: Breakfast was self serve but food was hot and tasty.
Cons: Provide notice to consumers that there is no elevator and allow those who need a first floor room that option when booking the stay.
Location: Great location.
My husband is 83 and I am 67, he just had surgery to implant a pace maker a couple of months ago. I have a bad knee. There was nothing in the information when I booked the room that there was no elevator. When we arrived to check in, we were told that the only room left was on the 2nd floor. What if we were handicapped? If one of us were in a wheelchair what would we have done?? The room was clean and the breakfast was great, but we were exhausted from using the stairs several times. The rails i the staircase were so sticky it was disgusting. Also, only one of the ice makers was working. I had to walk from one end of the hotel all the way to the opposite end, just to get a bucket of ice. Won't stay there again.
