Disappointing room in nice-ish hotel

Pros: The location was great and the lobby was very beautiful. Also, they were able to press my wrinkled shirts in house before work on Monday.
Cons: Fix the broken guest elevator when there are only two guest elevators. Find your feather duvets and premium bedding if that's what's advertised.
Location: Many tourist sites and Termini station were close to the hotel.
The musty smell when I entered the room should have been sufficient warning about the overall quality of it, but I expected that it must have been a one-off anomaly at this 5-star hotel, so I remained in the room. After jogging through the city, I returned to find no hot water in the shower. After letting it run for about 30 minutes, there was still no hot water, so I took a cold shower. Afterwards I notified the front desk staff of the mustyness and cold water, and the staff said that the maintenance team would fix it. The team was there while I was at dinner, but the smell remained and the water became hot only after running it for another 20-30 minutes. I went to bed with my alarm set for 30 minutes early to account for the water to warm up in the morning. However, this is when I discovered the problems with the bed, which was very uncomfortable (like a padded Box spring without a mattress), did not have a feather duvet (as advertised), and did not have premium bedding (as advertised). In fact, the sheets were so coarse that I received abrasions on my elbow from rolling over in my sleep! I notified Expedia of the problems, which they told the staff. They're reply: "Dear Sir, We know that you had some problems with the hot water the day of your arrival. Should be anything solved, but please let us know if you need we can change your room. Thank you - The Hotel Management" When I asked for a new room, I was told to expect similar conditions in a new room, so I remained.

Close to major attractions

My third visit to Roma and first time staying in this hotel. The location is great, opposite to US Embassey and next door to Hard Rock. Safe and close to everything. Lots of bars and east places next minutes away. Also 10-15 minutes walk to major attractions. Room is big and clean even though facilities are bit old. Overall is great.

Excellent staff! Outstanding concierge service! He really helped us get around Italy! Amazing breakfast with an incredible variety of food. Very clean, neat rooms and all around amazing hotel!

Charming Hotel

The hotel takes you back to the 1950's - you expect Frank Sinatra or Audrey Hepburn to appear. It has been renovated but the rooms, the furniture, the staff are all from its golden era. Immaculate clean rooms with staff going above and beyond. Great location close to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps.

Servicing of rooms through the day is below standard. Have to keep calling front desk for amenities. Staff is very friendly and courteous.
