Great place to stay by yourself or with others
Popilia was an incredible place to stay. Eveything about the resort is amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly and was always very helpful. The rooms are comfortable and immaculately kept. The grounds are also meticulously maintianed. The pools is huge and makes you feel like you are in the Caribbean. The restaurant is also very good. If i had to give one criticism it would be to have a wider selection of food options for lunch or dinner. Otherwise 10 out of 10!!

The property is set in a beautiful pastoral area with lush gardens and wonderful views. The property, while clean and well kept, could use a little updating in the rooms/cottages.

It was ok, the road was quite difficult to get to. Avoid getting there after dark. Breakfast was great. Dinner was ok.

Lovely
Beautiful location, room was Very comfortable and have beautiful views of gardens. There are trails for walks around lake and gardens, we enjoy animal farm with rabbits and donkeys, goats and mini piglets Restaurant breakfast and dinner five stars. Only let down was spa you need to book in advance there was no availability for next 4 days. This is due to Covid only 6 allowed in spa area

This was my second time to Popilia and I was not disappointed at all with the resort.The staff, hotel and facilities were fantastic. The food was lovely and very well presented. The pool was very clean and pool staff were extremely helpful. Really looking forward to another visit in the near future.

On the hill
The cottage set up was fabulous for a family. The bathroom was spacious but didn't have a bathtub which made cleaning our toddler challenging. The restaurant was delicious and the daily breakfast was generous. The view was nothing short of spectacular; well worth the drive up the hill. This hotel has tons of of outdoor family entertainment and it's about a 30 minute drive from the most beautiful beaches in Italy.

Lovely hotel, facilities all excellent and the staff were helpful and friendly without exception. Very, very minor criticism which might be unfair given the environment was the large number of ants on the floor of the bedroom. Even allowing for the rural setting, there were lots of them which was a bit off-putting. Still not something that would prevent me from recommending though!!

A true find!
We stayed in one of the cottages at Popilia and it was a delight. Immaculate, comfortable, spacious...just a real delight! In fact, we loved it so much that on our way back through the area we cancelled a reservation at another hotel and stayed at Popilia again. To top it all off, they have a fabulous restaurant with a true professional staff, wonderful food and a great wine list! At to all of that the views and it just doesn't get much better!

Wonderful start to a honeymoon
We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights at the start of our honeymoon. After the drive up a very steep and windy road we were greeted by the resort. Our room looked out over the pool and the surrounding countryside, which was a great view to be greeted by on the terrace which we used morning and evenings. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful suggesting places to visit when the weather didn't allow you to sit around the pool to relax. The event staff tried to encourage you to join in daily in the activities on offer, although they were not intrusive. The food was excellent - there was a variety of fresh fruit, pastries, cheeses and ham for breakfast and the a la carte dishes we chose in the evening we were wonderful.

A Room With A View
Unhappy with a vacation rental we booked in Pizzo, we headed for Popilia. Smart move on our part. We drove to Popilia. The road to Popilia is narrow and winding but worth the drive. Upon arrival you are high above Pizzo and the ocean and have a spectacular view of the ocean, shoreline and beach. You are overlooking an active farming operation and if this is not agritourismo, it's very close. The rooms were well appointed and from our balcony we looked out at a grove of pine trees in front, a pond to the right and then further right, overlooking an orchard, there is a view to the ocean. Very Nice. The breakfast in the morning is generous. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and were very pleased.While this is about 10 minutes from the beaches in and near Pizzo, it is worth the drive.

Lovely Week in Calabria
Popilia is a lovely, slightly remote, resort set on top of the hills surrounding the town of Pizzo. The views are excellent and we could even see the volcanic island of Stomboli from our balcony. The staff were excellent - happy to endure our faltering Italian but ready to explain in English when required. Nothing was ever a problem. Calabria is a beautiful, green and mountainous region - with lots to explore and enjoy.

5 Star Resort in middle of no where, but worth it!
Best experience at any Italian Hotel I have ever visited. Normally you subtract one star from any Italian hotel listing. In this case you need to add a star. The employees at the travel center on site were a blessing, they helped my wife and I secure a car ferry for our trip to Lipari at the last minute. The staff are very friendly, speak very good English, and the resort was spotless and brand new. It reminded me of The resorts found in Mexico, except you are in the middle of farmland country. The view is spectacular both day and night and air is pleasantly fresh and sweet as compared to Rome, Naples, or any major Italian city. Great stop between Naples and Sicily stay at least 2 nights to enjoy the place. Only problem was a very slow kitchen at the on site restaurant. We will be back!

Beautiful setting and excellent facilities.
Stunning location, beautiful site and surroundings. Nicely laid out with small bungalows. The room was spacious and extmely comfortable with a small terrace. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. I was only using it as a stopping off point on a journey but would come back and spend time, and would definitely recommend to friends. No bath which I thought was a little surprising for a spa hotel, but everything else was perfect.

Começo pelo que foi muito bom. Atendimento do check in(nao lembro o nome da simpatica recepcionista dia 29/11/23 as 21:00) excelente. E depois as dicas sobre vinho do Roberto(garçom). Tudo nota 10! O hotel tem um excelente estrutura. Espetacular na verdade. Porem tem algumas coisas que precisam ser corrigidas. - A questao do ar condicionado nao ser controlado pelo hospede, é horrivel. Hora muito quente, hora muito frio sem funcionar(estivemos fim de novembro). - Meu quarto teve um problema, em que a central do dijuntores entrava em teste a cada pouco, e ficava apitando e fazendo barulho de liga e desliga, tornando impossivel dormir. O atendente da madrugada, tambem simpatico e atencioso, veio e me explicou como resetar, mas tiver que fazer isso umas 5 vezes na noite. Resumindo, quem dorme? Indico...mas precisam arrumar isso.

Personal war unfreundlich und wirkte genervt 4 Tage hintereinader Hochzeit mit Feuerwerk bis spät in die Nacht und sehr laut die Anfahrt ist auch sehr eng und unüberschaubar nur mit Mietwagen zu empfehlen weit weg von Pizzo. Anlage ansonsten sehr schön.

Hotel abbastanza fuori mano nei pressi di Pizzo, immerso nel verde con una bella vista. L'appartamento in cui abbiamo alloggiato non era il massimo a livello di pulizia, le lenzuola avevano parecchie macchie ed era pieno zeppo di formiche, soprattutto in bagno anche sui sanitari. Bellissima la piscina, molto grande e tantissimi e sempre disponibili i lettini e le sdraio. La colazione cosi cosi, di buona qualita ma non troppo varia. Avevamo scelto questo hotel perche doveva accettare gli animali, unici requisiti il peso, entro 25 kg e la quota giornaliera di 20 euro al giorno. Alla fine dei conti invece questo hotel accetta i cani solo sulla carta visto che poi nella realta non possono accedere da nessuna parte. Per chi ha animali non lo consiglio assolutamente, gli hotel pet friendly sono altri. Sicuramente non ci verro mai piu.

Tutto davvero bello, location immersa in un parco, dove puoi trovare tranquillità e ogni confort. Inoltre pulizia e gentilezza sono la prassi. Il ristorante poi è un'escursione enogastronomica interessante.

Hotel muito bom, acesso muito ruim e perigoso.
O hotel é excelente, com café da manhã bom e atendimento idem. O quarto e a internet são muito bons e as instalações bem cuidadas e limpas. Os pontos contra ficam por conta da localização, não está a 2,2km de Pizzo como diz o aplicativo e nem a três, como dizem os funcionários, mas sim a cerca de 6 km do centro. O pior de tudo é a perigosíssima entrada para o hotel. Você tem que fazer uma curva abrupta no meio da estrada em meio a uma curva. A saída é pior ainda, por causa desta curva não dá para ver direito quem vem no sentido da cidade.

È sempre un piacere soggiornare al Popilia Country Resort dove, almeno una volta l'anno, torniamo con mia moglie per un po' di sano relax! Il personale, sempre molto accogliente e disponibile, ha reso il soggiorno ancora più piacevole. Decisamente consigliato!
