Great hotel very close to the V&A water front

Pros: It`s staff were so friendly and helpful and it`s location to the V&A water front was ideal.

Location: Location so close the the V&A water front was ideal.
Had a great stay at the Commondore Hotel, were the staff were so friendly, it`s facilities were good and it`s location so close to the V&A water front was excellent.

Excellent location and very good breakfast

Commodore hotel is in a fantastic location very close to the V&A Waterfront. The breakfast was also very good

Good price for location

Overall, excellent hotel and service. Only complaint: I had phoned ahead and requested a pickup at airport, having a flight from Johannesburg and specified 2 people. I was quoted R444, but at final checkout Nov.14, I was billed R495 (?).

Classy, old fashioned hospitality and wonder

Wonderful hospitality. Old fashioned charm. Traditional hotel with continuity of staffing. This is my ninth visit and I will return. Near V&A and central for Capetown. Good management and happy friendly staff.

Nice hotel close to V & A waterfront

Cons: Lobby and lifts could do with some refurbishment look a little tired.

safe, convenient location at waterfront

Pros: The buffet breakfast was excellent.
Location: Waterfront and tour buses were an easy walk.
The hotel's location made restaurants and shops within walking distance. Tour bus pickup is right around the corner.

The hotel is in a good location. You can walk five minutes to the waterfront. My hotel bathroom was clean but had a strong recently used smell when I first walked in. I wish they had aired it out before I got there. Also they gave me two twin beds instead of a queen/king then said no other rooms were ready. So I had to sit and wait for the staff to convert the beds using a raggedy looking mattress pad. It was comfortable enough but who wants that experience on vacation. For me, it would have been better to be asked to wait 10 minutes with a complementary drink then to go up to a poorly prepared room. As for the staff, it just depends on who you happen upon. Some are helpful; some are superficially pleasant just saying whatever to end the interaction without actually providing assistance.
