very pleasant hotel right beside Brentwood Ferry T

Posted Mar 14, 2016
Pros: location: ferry terminal clean view away from YYJ city center close to YYJ close to Butchart Garden
Cons: need new beds soon make sure all sheets come out of the dryer smelling fresh
Location: right beside Brentwood Bay Ferry Terminal 10-15 minutes from Butchart Garden close to airport water sport on site/right beside the hotel
the hotel is very nice and well kept overall - apparently it is 12 years old, it sure doesn't look like it. it is only 15 minutes drive from the YYJ, 10-15 minutes from Butchart Garden and 30 minutes ish from DT Victoria. all the rooms have ocean/bay view, which is nice. i stayed in room 302, the room isn't big, but the floor to ceiling windows made the room feel very open. there is also a balcony and a fireplace. our king size bed wasn't the most comfy, both sides started to lose support, not a huge deal and common with hotel beds. the sheet between the blanket and the bed sheet smelled like old oil used for deep frying, not a real deal breaker, we just asked them to change it after our 2nd night. the breakfast at the hotel restaurant was very delicious, and there are also few small cafes around. like Seahorses Cafe, Blue's Bayou Cafe and Zanzibar. the hotel is right beside the Brentwood Bay Ferry Terminal, we took the ferry ($38 two adults and a compact vehicle) to Mill Bay the day we drove to Tofino, which saved us around 20 minutes. if you are up to it, you can also rental kayaks to explore the area, or join one of its tours (i think the tours are only available during summer months). we didn't use the heated pool and hot tub (both are small), because it was early March, and chilly for us. i should also mention that this resort has not resort fee. when i come back to YYJ, i will definitely stay here again.

A real luxurious treat. If you're looking for a place to pamper a loved one, look no further. First class all the way.

Spa and Hotel

Posted Mar 7, 2016
We stayed in early March so the weather was not the best. We stayed for 4 nights. Western 1// of our meals in the hotel and the seafood was fantastic. One pretty cool idea wa the taster size wine and beer selections. We had fun with that. We had 2 spa days. We did the couples cocoon which was really relaxing. We did massages and facials on our next visit. If you are booking more than $400 in spa treatments and of products buy a year membership for $100 and receive 25% discount on spa and hotel room. Booking through Expedia saved us at least $300 on the flight and accommodations. I would recommend this hotel and spa for anyone wanting a relaxing slower paced vacation.

Hello Stephen, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your recent stay with us. I am so happy to hear you had a wonderful and relaxing stay and that you had the opportunity to visit the Spa and enjoyed food and drinks in our Dining Room and Pub, that is exactly the experience we want to offer. Looking forward to the opportunity to welcoming you to the Resort in the near future. Sincerely, Gina

Great room, lovely view, and pet friendly too

Posted Mar 3, 2016
Pros: The room was gorgeous, very spacious, the in-room fireplace is a nice touch, as is the huge Jacuzzi tub with a view of the bay.
Cons: Quality control on the kitchen (see above) A fitness room should be in the main part of the hotel in addition to the limited facility at the marina
Location: Near Butchart Gardens and Butterfly World and an easy drive into downtown Victoria
Even though we were a little early at check-in our room was ready. Staff personally escorted us to the room , pointed out some useful features such as an alternate route to the pool and hot tub that didn't take us back through the hotel main building. Although there are water based activities such as kayaking available in the summer, in the winter you definitely will want a car to drive to local attractions or to go to downtown Victoria. All of the staff we saw were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Generally the food was quite good, the one meal that was unsatisfactory (an un-fresh and overcooked serving of halibut) was quickly and graciously replaced.
