Beautiful building with great atmosphere. No elevator so keep the luggage light. Quiet neighborhood easy access to harbor area. Plenty of parking.

Nice hotel in quite neighbourhood.Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: Frieldy staff, large comfortable rooms.
Cons: Could clearly hear what was going outside of the room.
I had a great stay at English Inn. Hotel is very nice, staff is friendly. The only problem is sound isolation - you can clearly hear what's going on outside of the room.

English Inn for an English cityPosted Aug 19, 2015 on Hotels
The English Inn s main house is a marvel of pre world war I construction. It s garden s features are fascinating to explore. We got a good deal on the room and didn t mind 3 flights of stairs. The breakfast was a let down and far away from advertised daily fresh baked croissants.

magnifique hôtel qui fait voyager dans le temps. Le décor est très "British", l'accueil parfait, même tard, confort du lit un peu spartiate, excellent petit déjeuner de qualité, avec des croissants cuits sur place chaque matin.

What a fantastic gemPosted Aug 15, 2015 on Hotels
This was a last minute reservation, but what a fantastic gem we uncovered. A very English Inn, with spacious, charming rooms, in beautiful surroundings, not too far away from Victoria downtown. Service was great as well, although to be fair it seemed a bit quiet while we were there. Btw., get a chowder rom Red Fish Blue Fish while you are in town - best I have ever had.

25th Anniversary CelebrationPosted Aug 15, 2015
Pros: The ambience and the staff.
Cons: The buildings need a little TLC - they are showing their age.
Location: It was easy to get to and being set away from the road with lots of trees, it was very quiet and seemed to be out in the country.
This was a last minute decision for a quick getaway for our 25th anniversary. We like the photos on the website and decided to go there. We were very pleasantly surprised. The Inn is a beautiful place that reminded us of many places in Europe. We enjoyed the ambience of the buildings and the staff was fantastic. We ordered supper in and they set up a beautiful dining table for us complete with flowers on the table. The room was comfortable and we had access to a nice outside deck. All in all, our mid-week getaway was a big success and we will recommend it to all our friends and family. We were even lucky enough to have the Snow Birds do a flyover while we were there.

Great for an event, not a vacation.Posted Aug 13, 2015
The rooms had lots of character. No central AC, but there was an ocillating fan in each room and a large balcony. The grounds are very well kept and very beautiful. The single person on staff during day time hours did an amazing job at being the housekeeper, bartender, concierge, and front desk all at once. After 11pm, there is no staff to assist. There isn't any food or activities within walking distance. A binder of food options for delivery before 9pm is offered. Transportation to town is about a 20 min taxi ride. This would be a great location for a destination event.
