Peaceful Victorian settingPosted Aug 24, 2015 on Hotels
It was fabulous! We would come back again if we ever have the opportunity to be on the island. And, we certainly will recommend it to anyone who needs a quiet place to stay while on the island. It.s so close to town and yet very peaceful neighborhood. We also felt very welcomed and very safe at the Humboldt.

Victoria's little jewelPosted Aug 8, 2015 on Hotels
I lovely and convenient place to stay. Everything was perfect but would have liked more personal interaction with the owners. Breakfast was fantastic and brought to your room, which I enjoyed.

Pros: Everything! Gracious hosts; beautifully restored; sherry and dainty treats in the library; comfortable beds; wonderful breakfasts brought to your room
Location: I chose the Humboldt because of it's proximity to the Save On Foods Memorial Center - an easy walk to and from the venue - and the ferry as well.
We came to town for a concert - just a one night stay. Humboldt B&B was perfect! It's absolutely beautiful and elegant. It is family owned and their attention to lovely details is impressive. We needed to request an early breakfast, outside of the ususal service time, and it was graciously and deliciously accomodated. The Humboldt was walking distance to everything we needed.

Humboldt HousePosted Jul 17, 2015
Our stay was very pleasant. After arriving in Victoria from Washington as walk-on ferry passengers, we walked to the home with our luggage. Being first-time visitors to the city, the route to the home, though easy and direct, required frequent glances to a street map. A $5 ride via a taxi would have been a better choice. The home is an easy and comfortable 10-minute walk from the harbor, shopping and restaurants. The hosts are welcoming and eager to assist with any questions or other needs. From relaxing in the library while enjoying assorted pastries and brandy, to the comfortable rooms, the home makes you feel like your are truly "at home." The delicious breakfasts are delivered directly to your room so you can enjoy a quiet, private, meal at the start of your day.

Wonderful place! The attention to detail in the room was lovely. Very nice folks who ran it. I would certainly stay there again. Great walking location to downtown fun too!

Fabulous Romantic Get-Away!Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: I liked the old style of the house and that each room was decorated in a different way. Also, it was very quiet.
Cons: We seemed to lack towel racks on which to place our wet towels/face cloths. Also, our bathroom fan could have used a dusting.
Location: Very close to downtown Victoria and was an easy 5-8 minute walk to the waterfront. Lots of shopping, bookstores and restaurants.
We were totally spoiled at the Humboldt House B & B! The room was very quiet and comfortable and the private breakfasts were five-star quality. We thoroughly enjoyed the inroom Jacuzzi tub each evening and all the special touches (chocolate truffles and wine on arrival and enjoying treats in the library each afternoon). We had an easy short walk to downtown too. Would recommend this to anyone celebrating a special anniversary or occasion or just needing a private get-away.

Best Bed and Breakfast ever, we stayed at Humboldt B&B for 4 days and it was so amazing. It is located near in downtown but it is so quite, you can relax its near to almost every tourist attraction in Victoria! Not only that there breakfast taste so good and the room is so clean.

Best Bed & Breakfast I have ever known!Posted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: The host David, the beautiful room, the parlor downstairs, the location...so close to the wharf and the Empress Hotel.
Location: This wonderful bed and breakfast was within easy walking distance to the harbor, Empress Hotel, BC Museum, Parliament building.
My room was beautiful. The parlor/library was a wonderful place to read and meet new people. The host, David, was knowledgeable about bus routes and tours. He is also a fantastic chef and chocolatier. His homemade truffles were exquisite! The breakfasts were served in my room. I had everything from seafood crepes to eggs Benedict. I was treated like a princess. I will remember this experience forever!
