Lots of room for a large family

Posted Mar 20, 2017
Pros: very spacious
Cons: furnishings need updating
We stayed here with our 4 children. There was plenty of room for everyone and the price was right, location was good, but we weren't impressed with the cleanliness. The rooms needs updating, but I imagine if that happens, the prices would go up, so overall, it was worth it for sure.

Don't leave anything in your room after checkout.

Pros: Clean, easy walk to pubs and restaurants close to town and the galloping goose trail.
Cons: CUSTOMER SERVICE
Just stayed here 1 night for a concert. First impression was great until we checked out and my wife forgot her favourite sweater in the room. Phoned the motel as soon as we got home after numerous phone calls nobody could let us know if housekeeping found it and would not return our calls or let us speak to a manager. My brother was in town for the next nights concert so he went to the motel to pick it up for us and was refused and told by this time housekeeping was not available. I phoned the motel back the day after my brother was there and still no manager available but the lady at the front desk said she has the sweater and we can pick it up anytime. I told her we already had someone there to pick it up and they refused to find it so being we are from out of town then could they mail it to us at their expense. The lady told me that was unlikely going to happen but she will check with the manager and someone would let me know. It has been 5 days now and no call back from anyone. I have contacted the main Ramada customer service now and they are looking into it??? So the point I want to get across here is it is a decent motel but once they have your money you better make sure you don't need anything else from them because your out of luck.

Far from downtown in an industrial type neighbourhood. Outdated and dingy

Dodgy

Check in Pleasant. Hallway smelled of smoke and pot...non smoking hotel. Had a empty bottle, pretzels, food etc under bed. Sink wouldn't drain...vomit smell. Room in very bad need of repair and maintenance. Thankfully sheets and towels were clean! Good location

Outdated, in need of refreshing

Cons: Badly in need of renovation
We were disapointed with the condition of this hotel. It was very worn and in much need of renovation.

Only stay here if you can't afford anything else

Pros: nothing
Cons: Enforce the no smoking policy, purchase quality mattresses and review with cleaning staff areas to pay attention to when cleaning.
Location: Not much to do in this area but it is a short drive to downtown and if you are wanting to save money this would be the place.
I was really disappointed in this hotel. I've stayed in budget hotels before but this one is near the bottom for me. When we checked in the service was great but I happened to read a sign that said "We are now 100% smoke free". I was thinking to myself "aren't most if not all hotels smoke free? big deal!". I should have known when the check in guy told us if we wanted to move from the first floor to a higher floor on our second night that something was probably wrong. As soon as we went down the hallway I was assaulted by tobacco smoke and pot. Our room didn't smell of it thank goodness but there is a lack of attention to cleaning. For example, there was a stain on the table and a large amount of dust bunnies on the baseboard as well as a build up of dirt/grime in the corner of the bathroom. The room was also sweltering hot and the thermostat was set to 15 C so the heat was obviously coming from surrounding rooms. Lastly the mattress was the lowest quality of mattresses. We checked out early and the man at the desk was very good about it. He said they are trying to prevent people from smoking but they are having difficulty locating where it is coming from. Not sure if I buy the last part of that.

The main problem that we found was that the elevator did not go down to parking garage. That meant luggage vehicle needed to be fetched and brought up to outside front doors. But only 2 spots. Both filled. So then had to find another parking spot. The hotel is getting older and does need some upgrades. Window gutters were filled with black gunk. Ech!

Thank you for staying with us. We are trying our best to enforce 5 minutes parking at very front of main entrance. However, there are still cases from time to time guests were not going with it. We welcome you to come back again in near future.
