AveragePosted Sep 28, 2015
Hotel and amenities were average. Nothing stood out as exception nor terrible. Generally an okay place to stay. I would recommend but would also say if you want a place with a "more special experience", keep looking.

Friendly staff and clean hotelPosted Sep 21, 2015
Cons: Update the rooms
Location: Close to restaurants, shopping, downtown.
We enjoyed our stay at the Sandman. The staff was very friendly and the hotel offered many amenities. Our room was at the back of the hotel which was very quiet. Would stay again.

OK cleanPosted Sep 20, 2015
Cons: big spring cleaning
Location: walking tours and the museum
was certainly acceptable, long hair found on inside bed sheet not the end of the world. Dust in corners, nothing they could not attend to if they had more time which I am sure they do not.Over all I would go back, great location and very quiet despite the busy traffic outside.

Really good hotelPosted Sep 17, 2015
Pros: The room, staff, and overall cleanliness of the hotel.
Cons: The hotel cannot do anything about the neighborhood, but would have been nice to have more dining options nearby.
If you're looking to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the waterfront, this location is a good choice. We walked to the waterfront, only 1.2 miles away and enjoyed the $8 cab fare back when our purchases were too much to carry. Great underground parking to stay out of the elements, which was not an issue while we were there. And the recommendations for a good breakfast place was outstanding, as we enjoyed our breakfast location so much, we went again.

It was a nice hotelPosted Sep 1, 2015
Pros: friendly staff
The price was right, it was a little far from down town but the city transit is great. There are many different bus routes that go right by the hotel. The staff was really fun. We talked and laughed with them. The room was clean, we didn't use the pool or the hot tub, to busy.

I wish I had checked it better before booking it would have been nice to have two beds and the pull out couch.

Internet pictures were better than the real thing. Room was quite shabby although the beds were comfortable. The location is on a busy highway. Forget any type of view. TV was basic cable, no movie channel. Basically a budget hotel with a kitchen.

LocationPosted Aug 18, 2015
Pros: Location met out needs
Cons: Earlier check in than 4PM
Location: On Douglas Street which is a main street in Victoria.
My sister had an early morning flight and we needed a hotel convenient to Downtown and airport shuttle pickup. The bedroom was good but my sleep on the pull out sofa was interrupted by some constant noise of a mechanical system. It was like Chinese water torture.

Lack of diningPosted Aug 9, 2015
They have a bar and grill attached and no minors allowed. The first night food provided in hotel eating area. Next night no god service when we had tired kids. Manager of grill shut down eating area. We were told that they made their money from liquor and could not spare the staff to serve us dinner. Very inconvenient and unprofessional. We were made to feel inconsequential. This is not a family orientated place.
