Lovely hotel great foodPosted Aug 8, 2015
Location: We enjoyed the Prince of Whales whale watching experience and would recommend it.
We had a lovely time at the Oswego hotel with your two kids 7 and 10. The room was very comfortable, the staff were very friendly. We really enjoyed the food which included some excellent local cheeses and craft beers.

Gorgeous hotel with clueless housekeeping staff.Posted Aug 7, 2015
Pros: The location, the staff at the front desk, the gorgeous view from our room, the well-designed minimalist furnishings.
Cons: Housekeepers should consider a guest's wishes. If guests raise the blinds repeatedly, don't lower them. Don't remove fine fruit. Conserve energy.
Location: Excellent location within walking distance of lovely and educational sites as well as restaurants and shopping.
This hotel was physically gorgeous inside and out. Not only is it appointed with sleek, minimalist furnishings and accessories, but each room posesses an entire wall of windows that overlook the harbor and hills. Sunsets are spectacular. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a suite, which included a modern kitchen complete with working appliances, flatware, dishes, and cooking gadgets. This situation motivated us to have breakfast, snacks, and even one dinner in the room, enjoying the lovely surroundings and fabulous view. This experience, which initially promised to be nirvana, turned out to include incomprehensible and irksome episodes thanks to the housekeeping staff. After I had carefully raised the many window blinds because of the view, the housekeeping staff lowered them--again and again, whenever I left the room. They also removed both the linen and paper table napkins (all clean and folded on the dining table) as well as beautiful peaches we left in a bowl on the kitchen counter. Perhaps worst of all, they were egregious energy wasters. The suite included 11 lighting fixtures, many with multiple bulbs. Every time the housekeepers visited, which was twice daily, they left the three rooms (living room-kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom) ablaze with light, with every single electrical device turned on: these included all eleven lighting fixtures, and the two ceiling fans, and the radio. Remedies came only after multiple calls and notes to the housekeeping staff.

Loved our 2-room suitePosted Jul 29, 2015
Pros: The staff was quite pleasant and amazing answering questions with walking directions to sites, finding a local grocery store, and even booking tours.
Location: Fisherman's Wharf, Inner Harbour, Royal BC Museum, whale watching tours, horse carriage tours, Parliament Building, Coho Ferry, and more
Stayed here with my mom and daughter, so it was great to have separate bedrooms and separate bathrooms. Also loved our west facing balcony to watch the sunset colors and cruise ships. There was always lots of activity (sound) with sea gulls and sea planes, but not bothersome to us and only heard when the balcony doors were open! Staying here put us within an easy walking distance to many tourist sites and there were lots of restaurant options nearby. Having the kitchen made breakfast time and happy hour all the better! Look forward to a return trip.

Stylish and Close to HarborPosted Jul 23, 2015
Pros: Convenient location to harbor, BC museum, downtown area, and good restaurants.
Cons: More attentiveness (coffee refills, updates on food status) during breakfast, when service seemed slow.
Location: See what we liked above.
The hotel was very nicely furnished with modern themes throughout. The bed was comfortable. The studio we had was larger than expected, nice kitchen (barely used) and eating space. Temperature (warm for Victoria) was easily controlled with ceiling fan and window cross ventilation. Service in the downstairs restaurant was slower than expected for the number of people seated; I think the kitchen was kept busy providing room service. Except for that service was generally very good.
