paper thin walls

Posted Jun 26, 2017
Beautiful resort but paper thin walls! Had 2 noise complaints within 5 mins of each other. Only talking.. was told to move couch and chairs into bedroom and stuff towels under doors? Seriously? Treated like a 12 year old! Very disappointing for the amount of money we all dropped:(

Watch out for extra fees not disclosed that are charged to your credit card immediately after leaving. Staff are not able to handle customer requests.

Hello, Thank you for booking your getaway at the Westin Bear Mountain and also for sharing your experience. I am sorry to see that your stay was less than expected due to the extra fees. We may assume that you could be referring to the Resort fee that covers a wide range of services and amenities that unfortunately are easy to miss in your confirmation email. We most certainly are not trying to apply hidden fees and would be more than happy to discuss this with you further if you like. We hope that you managed to enjoy the resort and all the surrounding areas, including hiking, walking trails and our fantastic swimming pool. Please do not hesitate to contact our front desk if you would like to discuss this any further, we hope to welcome you back to the resort, Be Well, Alexandra

Greatly exceeded our expectations!

It was more than we expected in every way! The pictures online do not do it justice by any means. We were unsure when we booked it and now we are sure we will never stay anywhere else!

The rooms were beautiful and very clean. My only complaints is the walls in between the rooms are thin and we had very loud people next door. Also the main problem was the water pressure for the showers were really bad.

Nice and beautiful hotel with nice staff and beautiful mountain view just a little bit noisy. I think ther are some problems with the installation of the room door.

Beautiful Room & Wonderful Stay

Posted May 18, 2017
Pros: The grounds, staff, and nearby restaurants in the resort
Cons: The weather ;)
I opted to pay the extra money for the one bedroom suite and was not disappointed by my choice! The suite is massive (750sqft) and comes with two separate rooms. The first room has a 1/2 bath (toilet & sink) with a beautiful vanity. In addition there is a very large kitchen in which you could cook if you were having an extended stay. There is also a living room with TV, fireplace and private deck. I checked an there is a hide-a-bed as part of the sofa. The second room contains the very comfortable king size bed, a desk and the master ensuite. The ensuite was gorgeous with a deep soaker tub and backlit mirror. The faux rain shower was very roomy and had great water pressure. My wife and I also really enjoyed the flooring of the rooms; they were a beautiful rustic stone floor and fit in well with the motif of the hotel. To me, it always stinks when you have to pay any sort of resort fee - I did however find that the resort fee at BM actually got you stuff - there was full use of a very beautiful fitness facility and pool area. As well there are guided hikes and guided yoga that one could take part in (if they so desired). The hotel is very close to Langford and Millstream village for shopping. We were going to golf, but the weather didn't cooperate (We have golfed BM before and it is truly one of our favourite courses). The drive to Victoria is about 20-25 mins Overall, this hotel is a must stay if you are looking to "get-away-from-it-all" but still be close to the city.

If you want a quiet building do not stay in the main building. There are bands for events that you can hear in your room until midnight. If you want peace and quiet stay in the Fairways building.

Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience. We are so sorry to see that your stay was disturbed by the event that took place at the Resort. We always try to do the best we can to pre-block guests as far away from the event as possible, however, as it gets busier, it gets a bit more complicated to ensure that this is the case. We are truly sorry that the event affected your stay and kept you up until midnight. We hope you enjoyed the rest of the stay aside from this mishap and hope to see you back, possibly in the Fairways building for a quieter time away.

Much appreciated upgrade!

Posted May 12, 2017
Pros: Everything was just great!
Location: Lots of outdoor activities, hiking, biking, fantastic scenery and a short drive to downtown Victoria too!
When booking a standard room for the Easter Weekend through Expedia last minute, I mistakenly booked for 3 nights, as I used the date I was booking instead of the following day for arrival. When I realized my mistake it was past 10 pm that night and it was too late to cancel the reservation for the night. When we arrived the next day I was very pleasantly surprised to find that we had been upgraded to a Suite for two nights! We really enjoyed our stay and had a fabulous view of the golf course and Mt. Finlayson :) Thank you so much and we'll certainly being returning and recommending your beautiful resort to family and friends!
