Great location, disappointing infrastructure

Posted Apr 24, 2017
Pros: Location, staff
Cons: Individual temterature control in the rooms with better ventilation, that is expected of a 4 star hotel!!
Location: Close to the high end shopping area, St. Stephens Church, Rath House, State Opera and plenty of other points of interest.
The hotel is located at a very convinient location, walking distance from the historic city center and to the shopping areas. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also nice with lots of choices. But the old infrstructure of the hotel, inclulding the centrally controlled heating and air conditioning and lack of propoer ventilation in the room was a big disappintment! We visited Viena in April 2017, and while it still cold outside, the room was HOT and felt very suffocating both during the day and even worse during the night. We could not adjust the temperature as everything was centrally controlled and they would not start the AC in the rooms as apparently there were still in "winter conditions". We could not open the windows as the City Bar was right infront of our room. My wife could hardly sleep for the first two nights of our four night stay. When after two nights of complaints, they finally gave us a little table fan to help with ventilation issue at night. So if you or your family has similar problems with temperature control and/or ventilation, I would not recommend the hotel during transition season. However, the situation might be better during summers when they could start the air conditioning throughout the hotel. Having said that, I am not sure if the other hotels in the city would be any better in this regards unless they are newly built so better to call upfront and confirm.

The Kiss - Vienna 2017

Posted Apr 21, 2017
Everywhere you turn are mementos of Gustav Klimpt's famous "Kiss" as well as countless other attractions--and the beauty of Das Tigra is that much of Vienna's finest museums, churches, palaces, restaurants and the like are right outside your door. We thoroughly enjoyed Hotel Das aTigra starting with an awesome breakfast each morning served up by always smiling, helpful staff. Our room was fairly priced, clean, stocked with essential products, comfortable beds and pillows. Everyone at the front desk (special shout-outs to Nico and Pavel) was great. Very pleased and happy to have found this little gem.

A small, friendly hotel in central Vienna

Posted Mar 30, 2017
Pros: Staff, nice room and great location.
Cons: Perhaps the construction workers across the street could start work later than 6.30 in the morning.
Location: The hotel is a short walk from shops and restaurants. The Spanish riding school and other museums and St. Stephen's Cathedral are all very close.
A very nice, comfortable hotel with helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is within a short walking distance of shops, restaurants, museums and St. Stephen's Cathedral. The only downside was the construction work going on just across the street. Weekdays work commenced at 6.30 in the morning. The hotel did provide earplugs and half price drinks in the bar to say sorry for any inconvenience.

Excellent hotel close to St Stephans Cathedral

Great hotel and location. Room very nice and very comfortable bed. However, there is major construction going on just across the street with jack hammering starting at 6:30 am! Impossible to sleep once that starts.

Pros: Excellent staff ,great breakfast ,pleasant rooms
Cons: See above
Location: Very convenient for Hofburg and many iconic eating places.
If you like to sleep with open windows you will be disturbed by thoughtless revellers .Hotel conscious of problem and trying to resolve.

Great hotel close to all main attractions

Posted Mar 6, 2017
Really impressed with hotel. Room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. Stocked fridge, tea/coffee and also coffee machine. Our room was very quiet even though there was building work adjacent. Breakfast was excellent in terms of variety and service. No waiting around for coffee to be brought or for empty plates to be lifted. I would definitely return to Das Tigra. Location perfect. No negative comments to make.

Comfortable hotel in an excellent position

Posted Feb 28, 2017
Pros: Great Location, friendly, efficient staff. Good size clean rooms.
Cons: The bar area was a little like a waiting room.
The hotel was clean and comfortable and in a great location to explore Vienna on foot. Although there was major building works across the road which was noisy, the hotel did everything they could to make up for this with half price drinks in the bar and free drinks for our party on the evening of my birthday.

Very pleasant hotel in the centre of Venice

Posted Feb 25, 2017
Pros: it was a very clean, modern and comfortable room with all the amenities we needed including free wifi. Coffee was free in the room and in the lobby.
Cons: We didn't have the breakfast as we thought 20 Euros each was very expensive if you only want a light breakfast. More options should be made available.
Location: It's a lovely city full of culture and plenty of places to see. The hotel is in a quite area and the centre very compact, flat and easy to walk around
we had a very pleasant 4 night stay in this hotel Monday to Thursday and would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Note there is building work going on opposite the entrance between 6am and 5pm through 2017 but we didn't find this too noisy as we were out and about all day and the double glazing was very good. The hotel was giving a 50% discount in the bar to compensate. We felt the hop on and hop off bus was good value with its easy to hear and understand commentary. Its also a good way to reach the far out destinations. The circular routes only go round in one direction so not really useful as a means of public transport ie if you are near the start of the route and your destination is near the end you will most likely be quicker walking. The city if lovely and surprisingly quiet for a capital city, ideal for a gentle few days of sightseeing. We were also quite surprised how courteous the drivers are towards pedestrians.
