Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Not for an Austrian standard anyways.

Clean hotel

It was a nice hotel. Must take metro to center of town and that was easy to do.

Clean, good value.

Room was clean and comfortable. The price was good. 7 minute walk to nearest train station. WIFI was garbage and "Fitness Room" was a small empty room with one stationary bike. Overall, good price, fair location.

Minimalist, but a bargain for Vienna

Posted Jul 29, 2016 on Hotels
The hotel recently had a management change apparently and changed from the Ramada Encore to FourSide. This caused a bit of confusion for me initially - wasn't sure I was in the right hotel. Some locals told me that it was in a bad neighborhood, but I think anyone who labels that a 'bad neighborhood' doesn't really know bad neighborhoods. It's a bit seedy, but I never felt I was ever in any danger at all, and I thought the location was great - a short walk to the subway station, and from there, just a 10 minute ride to city center. The room itself was quite minimalist - just what you really need and little more. It did have coffee-making facilities though - something the much more upscale hotel I stayed at prior to this one lacked. It was also kept very clean. So it's nothing fancy at all, but really quite a good deal for a Vienna hotel.

Nice hotel near in the train station going to city

Posted Jul 10, 2016
The hotel is nice, clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. My bad comment was the television (TV) they should have an english channel aside bbc news and cnn news. Sometimes the TV was not working it was really dissappointed.

Good but the location is not the best

Posted Jul 4, 2016
Pros: Spacious room with wooden floor
Cons: Maybe have a fridge in the room
Location: 20 minutes walk to Schloss Shonbrunn which is a main attraction venue in Vienna
The room was spacious and nice, but the hotel location is not the best. It has City Centre in its title but it's actually in the old part of Vienna and a train ride is required to go to the actual city centre. Schloss Shonbrunn is however not far, 20 minutes walking.

Not even in city centre

Posted Feb 3, 2016
We wanted dinner and a drink at 7.30 pm Sunday, we were told the kitchen and bar were shut. Funny tho the 2 staff members managed to find some food. Rubbish service when they say 24 hour bar and food.

Great Stay in Viennae

Posted Oct 30, 2015
Pros: The shower, the bed, the linens, free TV, complimentary tea and coffee, GREAT location.
Cons: The sink was clogged (very slow drain) throughout the stay and nothing was done to fix it. Also the WIFI was terrible (albeit free).
Location: Close metro stations, great location restaurants and of course Schönbrunn is just to the west of the hotel.
This hotel was overall a wonderful bargain purchase. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable, even the complimentary coffee was excellent. One thing to keep in mind for Americans who book a queen sized bed: they give you two double sized comforters instead of one queen sized one. Not a big deal, but this was the first time I'd seen that, and when I asked them about it they seemed to be surprised I even expected a blanket that fit the entire bed. Again, not a big deal though.

Looks can be, and in this case are, deceiving

I booked this hotel as I had a layover in Vienna coming back to Chicago and selected it based on the descriptor used on their website "City Center", as well as the pictures on the website which gave it the appearance of it being a newer hotel with nice modern furniture and decor. The location is not in a great part of town, but it is decent (at best) It is not located in the center of the city, which is really a 10 minute tax-cab ride away. Since we were there for a layover, this really didn't matter to us. The agents at the front desk were courteous and engaging. As we walked to our room on the second floor, you could really notice that either this property was not being taken care of, or they used cheap materials throughout the hotel which may appear to be nice, but are horrendous upon closer inspection. The corridor carpeting is a perfect example, which had a cool, urban, funky design but had the WORST stains I'd ever seen. This could be easily prevented if ownership had a preventative maintenance program and actually CLEANED the carpeting. The drain in the sink of our bathroom didn't work properly, but the manager did her best and even went the extra mile to buy a drain cleaner to attempt to resolve the problem, as well as gave us a gratis dinner at the hotel restaurant. Although the drain cleaner didn't resolve the issue, I understand the management did the best they could with the property they're working with. The shower was not really practical whatsoever
