Boutique hotel with great location

Posted Oct 16, 2014
Hotel Amadeus is located in the center of Vienna within easy walking distance of many attractions. It is about 2 blocks from the Stephensplatz subway station, so it is very easy to get to other locations. It is small (only about 30 rooms) but very comfortable. Despite its central location, it is quite quiet. The breakfast is very good and staff were friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was the air conditioning, which was not working when we were there, although this only affected the lobby and breakfast room. This was our second stay at this hotel and we would definitely return.

A little gem in the heart of Vienna

Posted Aug 5, 2009
I stayed at Hotel Amadeus three years ago in a single room that was very small, but enjoyed the location and the atmosphere of the hotel so much that I returned this June with my husband. Our double room was spacious and comfortable, with a fully renovated bathroom. When we arrived the night clerk knew that I'd stayed there before and welcomed me back (wow!). We had to check out at 5 am on a Sunday morning before the hotel's breakfast room was open, and a different desk clerk was thoughtful enough to arrange for breakfast to be brought to our room the night before, as well as booking our taxi. Now, that's service! The breakfast is modest, but on a par with many other European hotels, and is available in a pleasant morning room. The location, on a small side-street a couple of blocks from Stephansdom, is ideal for exploring the city centre and I felt safe in the area even on my own. It is easily accessed by Underground from the main train station or by transfer to the CAT (airport express train). It is quite expensive by my North American standards, but the central location and excellent service make the bill worthwhile. I will happily stay at Hotel Amadeus the next time I'm in Vienna.
