Historic Hotel

Pros: The grandeur. The history. The cleanliness. Everything about this hotel was class (in my opinion). The staff were very pleasant.
Cons: ?
Location: The location is ideal, if you want to be in the centre of things, that is. Everything is within walking distance. The shops are around the corner.
This was our first time in Vienna and it didn't disappoint. For February, we were very lucky with the weather, sunny most of the time. Everything was in walking distance, with plenty of shops and wonderful buildings to see. The hotel was like stepping back in time and made you feel like to wanted to know everything about it.

Magical stay in Vienna

Pros: Everything
Cons: I cannot think of any improvement
Location: Very central location, next door to opera house, shopping and many great places to eat.
We chose this hotel because it is close to the Opera House. It is next door to it. The superior room was beautiful, wifi worked, the bathroom was beautifully laid out in marble, great rain shower, big tub, heated bathroom floor. AC works flawlessly, many power outlets. The breakfast buffet is offers any breakfast fare you can imagine, eggs and omletts to order, champagne, baked goods, cold cuts, jams, fruit and fruit salads, yogurts, cheese and much more. In addition you can order a la carte breakfast. the service is exceptional: from the airport pick up, room cleaning, turn down. I needed my dress altered and they arranged for a seamstress to come in on a Sunday to measure the dress and shorten it (no charge). The concierge found me a coat to wear the night we went to the opera house (free of charge). When we wanted to visit the famous Sacher Cafe, the receptionist called and immediately guided us through the hotel to the cafe and the table that was waiting for us, while we noticed people queuing outside for one of the desirable seats. The tables at the "Blue Bar" can be reserved, a fact we were not aware of when we wanted to meet with friends there on Saturday night (Our stay was during the Viennese "ball season" and the bar is a popular meeting place to ring in the evening). We were lucky that turn-over was quick and managed to get one of 4 tables in the bar. We will stay at the Sacher again when we return to Vienna.

Fantastic hotel in the centre of the city

Pros: Location & service
The Hotel Sacher Wien is in the city centre and walkable to all the major attractions. The staff here are very friendly, professional and will do anything to make your stay enjoyable. There are a lot of little touches the hotel undertakes in its rooms which made our stay that much more special. The only issue was the heat in the room. The temperature can be changed and the A/C can be switched off however you cannot change the temperature in the bathroom. The underfloor heating made it stifling. It was -3 during our stay so understandable that the heating was on. Unfortunately, for us the heat made the atmosphere in the room very dry and meant that neither of us slept well the entire trip. Not sure what the hotel can do about it, but wanted to mention it as this was the reason the Room Cofort rating is 3/5. The Cafe Sacher is definitely worth a visit. The cafe itself is beautiful and the cake was very nice. All in all, a great hotel with fantastic staff.

Immersed in luxury in downtown Vienna

Pros: This hotel in general oozes luxury and comfort. From the time the porter opens the door, to the entryway and parlor .. the entire hotel is grandiose and it feels amazing to stay there. I love the rooms are named (we stared in the Turando Suite) and our was extremely spacious and opulent. We were greeted with a tray of fruit, chocolate and of course the famous sacher torte. They brought special toiletries, a sacher purse and coloring book for my 5 year old daughter. Additionally they brought a child's robe and slippers. The bathroom was quite large and I love the television within the mirror, such a neat touch.
Cons: Most of the staff was amazing, but the concierge gave a number of not great recommendations and incorrect information. One of the things they mentioned was that I didn't need to buy tickets ahead of time for the palace as there would be no wait, thank goodness I didn't listen as the lines were indeed quite long and I would have wasted a lot of time waiting. Additionally, they gave negative reviews on the restaurants I had asked them to book which wouldn't have been so awful if the restaurants to which they directed me were good, but alas they were not. Additionally in the cafe, the staff bordered on rude as we were told to outside seating was available but it appears the waiter was scheduled to get off soon and was not pleased when we sat although we had been directed there. Definitely some improvements to be made in that area. Breakfast - There was a great array of items, however it seemed they could have made better item selection with the space as it was a lot of different types of drinks and granolas. What I would have more expected from a B&B vs the Sacher Wien. Additionally due to the spacing it was a little awkward where things were placed. Lastly, the Sacher Torte laid out, well, we know when the whole cake is left out gets dry .. the personal sized cakes would have been so much nicer to enjoy. The service for breakfast was johnny on the spot, a mere glance had someone ensuring you had everything you needed. Love it.
Location: The hotel is right next to the pedestrian shopping, directly across the street from the opera house and just a great location in general.

Excellent location, people, and room, a bit small.

Pros: Atmosphere and comfort of a room. Location. Very close to anything to do. Yet very calm
Cons: The top shower leaked a bit when the side shower is used. room416.
Location: Do not visit any famous cafe from 11 to 15 if you do not want to wait. Visit the cafe at Julius Meinl am Graben, if you are a coffee lover.
Very close to shopping, bank, citybike station, bus, tram, subway, taxi, SIM card and walkable distance to most tourist attractions, and restaurants, most are within 1000 m. Relatively expensive, but worth it. Clean comfortable room, water, fruites everyday. Very pleasant peoples. Our room was a bit small, 30 m*2, compared to 40-50 m*2 foor this class, which is the tradeoff for the convenience. We could see the Opera house though the windows.
