I booked the Palais Coburg Residenz for a weekend in December 2011 to celebrate my wifes Brithday. The hotel is expensive but proved well worth it for such a special ocassion.
The quality of the hotel rooms and also in particular the staff/service was truly exceptional.
If booking I would also recommend the cellar tour and evening meal with accompanying wine which proved fascinating not only to view the exceptional cellars, contents and a excellent 5 course meal, but also to get a better understanding of the Palace building itself and renovations that were undertaken over some 5 years. The Palace did form part of the original Vienna walls and has considerable history.
We had a truly wondeful weekend which we both will always treasure and the hotel and the staff contributed to this. My thanks in particular goes to Robert, the assistant front office manager who was at all times exceptionally helpful with nothing being too much trouble.
