I am able to be very positive about the hotel staff, who were very helpful, fully competent and had a a most friendly, whilst respectful, attitude. The room was immaculately maintained throughout our stay. The wifi in the room was fast and reliable but the use of my laptop on the work surface was uncomfortable as the space between the end of the bed and the worksurface was insufficient to accommodate the chair. As I am sure that most customers of the hotel will need to use their laptops for both personal and business needs and the provision of a small desk and chair in the corner of the room would be much appreciated.
The Restaurant was most disappointing. We had all decided to have fish items off the menu for our main courses only to be told that no fresh fish was available. After dinner two of us ordered coffee and brandy, after short time the waiter returned to to tell us that the hotel had no brandy. Even the most modest restaurant in Portugal will always have an ample stock of Macieira !!
