Dirty hotel but descent staff

Posted Jul 18, 2017
Pros: The staff was very nice
Cons: They need to clean and remodel
Location: the location was beautiful and had nice restaurants, shopping centers and beach nearby.
This hotel was extremely dirty. This is the type of hotel where truck drivers come and stay or prostitutes use to handle their business. I wish I had pictures to present, but I do not. It was out dated with very old stained mattress and sheets. The carpets had all types of stains on the floor. There was cigarette smoke residue everywhere. I had to go to walmart up the street to get bleach and cleaning supplies. That help a little bit bust not much because they have accumulated years of backed up dirt. After all, we book the room for about four days and only stayed for a day and half (barely) and found somewhere else to sleep.

Thank you for being our guest and for sharing your feedback.  We apologize that your first impression of our hotel was less than positive and that upon arrival to your suite, there were housekeeping issues. Our goal is to provide clean, comfortable and well-maintained suites for our guests, and we obviously fell short in this case.  We hope you will give us another opportunity to show you a great stay, so please come back the next time you are in the Virginia Beach area.  Sincerely, General Manager

CLOSE TO THE BEACH

Posted Jul 14, 2017
Cons: THOSE SIX ITEMS LISTED ABOVE.
Location: CLOSE TO THE BEACH.
MY FAMILY HAD A VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE WITH THIS HOTEL.WITH MORE THAN 35 YEARS OF TRAVEL EXPERIENCE IN MANY COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD, EXTENDED STAY SHOULD UPGRADE TO CUSTOMER SATISFACTIONS. ITS A THREE STORY, MANY ROOMS BUT: 1) NO ELEVATOR 2) NO KITCHEN UTENSILS IN ROOM 3) DIRTY FLOOR CARPET, WAY BELOW GOOD HOTEL STANDARD 4) FREE BREAKFAST, ACTUALLY; ITS ONLY COFFEE/TEA AND A COOKIES. BREAKFAST MEANS, YOU HAVE AN EGG, SAUSAGE OR HOT DOG OR BACON. HOT CAKE OR TOASTED BREAD PLUS COFFEE/TEA. 5) NO BALL PEN, HOTEL DIRECTORY/INFORMATION WHICH IS A NECESSITY IN A EVERY GOOD HOTEL. 6) AFTER CHECKED IN, WE WENT TO OUR ROOMS AND FOUND OUT NO KITCHEN UTENSILS; SO WE WENT TO THE FRONT DESK AND ASKED FOR THE UTENSILS. TO OUR SURPRISE, WE WAITED FOR ALMOST 3 HOURS TO GET THE UTENSILS AND THE FRONT DESK GUY GIVE US INCOMPLETE UTENSILS BECAUSE AS HE SAID, HE HAS TO DIVIDE THE UTENSILS BETWEEN MY GROUP. WE CHECKED IN FOR FOUR(4) ROOMS AS A GROUP. DIVIDING THE KITCHEN UTENSILS BETWEEN MY GROUP IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ALL. ITS RIDICULOUS...

Decent Hotel

Posted May 30, 2017
Overall everything was fine. Clean room, nice staff. My other problems were it was next to what seemed to be a construction site and also had a problem with how we had to bring our own towels down to get new fresh ones. Plus it seemed as if they were limited on cooking pots and stuff. But other than that it was good.

CJay, thank you for the review. We are happy to note that you liked your room and our associates. To ensure cleanliness of kitchenware upon check-in, brand standards require us to make these items available at the front desk rather than leaving them in the suites, and our team gladly delivers them to your suite. Your feedback is appreciated, and we will remind our front desk to communicate this more clearly going forward. It was our pleasure accommodating you, and we look forward to seeing you again! Sincerely, General Manager

Not impressed

Posted May 4, 2017 on Hotels
I chose this hotel because my AC went out and I needed one that was pet friendly with a kitchen so that I can cook there. And relax as if I was at home. So many things were wrong with my room/this hotel. No one ever came to change the linens during my stay. The cooking utensils didn't match. You also were required to order what you wanted to use as far as pots and pans and etc. The water pressure in the sink to clean the dishes...well lets just say that made it impossible. Also there were ants coming from the bathroom. The toilet paper holder was broken and the toilet had its own set of issues. The room is marked "queen bed" however it's not. It's a double bed. Which didn't work for the two of us. The good things about this room was the location. It was also very quite minus the noise from the highway. I also liked that they had signs to clearly mark where the "dog" area was. I don't think I would stay here again unless it was my last option.

No one came to make the bed, take trash out or give me clean towels during the five days I stayed there.

Thank you for the feedback about your stay at our hotel. I am sorry to hear that your stay wasn't up your expectations. To prevent this from happening again, my team is working on a better way of explaining the different cleaning schedules we offer. Disasterous From Start to Finish

Posted May 1, 2017 on Hotels
We used Hotels.com for the very first time. When my husband and daughter checked in after a basketball game they were told they didn't have a room for them. They even had the Confirmation Number. After 40 minutes they said they found a room for them that there was a cancellation. They unpacked, got settled in, and there was no air conditioning the room temp was 91 degrees. Back to the front desk, waiting again, packed up and moved to another room. The air conditioner rattled loudly all night like a train passing as it blew on the closed curtains that flapped loudly all night. Toilet was broken so my husband fixed it so that it would flush. There were 4 light bulbs out and when they woke up early for the advertised Continental Breakfast it was just granola bars and coffee. I am pretty open minded and don't give bad reviews but it is what it is. I see from other bad reviews there is an apology and note to better serve them in the future. Well if that is the case we are going to Mc Daniel College May 13-14 for another tournament and you can prove it then.
