This hotel is unique with a certain charm that you don't find with larger hotel chains.This hidden gem has more of a mom and pop feel to it. I like places like this, where the rooms have more of a " cottage feel" rather than every room looking the same. We hen your in the mood to stay somewhere more off the beaten path, choose The Franscian.

I was very impressed with the gentleman that checked me in at the front desk. He was friendly and very helpful, much nicer than other front desk greeters I have come across in North County hotels.

The musky dirty room
The room smelled horrible the carpet was was so dirty, one of the beds was sunken in, the bed sheets weee stained with blood. It was horrible people outside their room listening to music at 3 am full blast. Dont stay here do your self a favor especially if you ha e small kids

Situation seemed decent when we arrived- nothing great, by any means, but stayable. Then we started making discoveries. First off, I needed to use the restroom when we got everything brought in from the car. The toilet had the room service tape over it, indicating that the toilet was cleaned- it was not. There were poop splatters all over the inside of the bowl. We started to clean it, but then decided that was not our responsibility, and requested someone come to clean it. The person working gave us a new room and apologized. In the new room, there were long hairs all over the pillows, the floor and the shower walls. There was some urine under the toilet seat, and boogers on the wall next to the toilet but at that point we just cleaned them ourselves as best we could with toilet paper and dealt with it. We ended up taking the pillows from the previous room to make ourselves feel less weird about sleeping on them. The faucet in the shower was severely corroded but everything worked, at least. The staff, at least was friendly and apologetic. I would not stay there again, but it wasn’t the worst place to have stayed.

Stayed twice. First time wasnt as bad and pretty much what one would expect from a cheap motel. Second time I was given a different room that was just dirty. Reeked of ciggerates, there was hair in the "clean" towels, none of the lamps worked, overall a bad experience. Ive never left a review, on anything. This place was so bad I feel obligated to.

The exterior of the hotel is terrible. It looks like a place you could rent by the hour. My mother was going to refuse to stay there. However, the rooms were very nice and clean.. the selection of tv channels is awful there were no network stations available. Also there were no phones in the rooms. My bathroom sink got plugged up and we were moved to another room right away.

The office personnel appeared to park their personal vehicles in the shaded overhang next to the office, where temporary parking is provided for people checking in or out. We were told to check in after three despite their being numerous rooms that were vacant. I asked what room we would be assigned to so that I could park my car in front of it. The office personnel told me that I would be assigned a room at the time we checked in. We checkeed in just qafter three. The room didn't have any hangers; the furniture looked dilapidated. The last straw was no hot water to take a shower in the morning. We left about nine o'clock. When I called and asked for a refund of one night that afternoon, the office personnel stated that no one else had complained about the water, implying that I had made it up to request a refund. He stated that the office manager would contact me about my request but it's been more than three days and no one has contacted me. When I left the key at the night station window, no one was in the office. I asked a man nearby who was staying at the inn if he had hot water that morning and he replied, "No".

This place was a nightmare. I came here after canceling an AirBnB nearby for similar reasons, oddly enough. The cockroaches alone were reasons to leave but I was at the end of my options. I killed at least eight in the two days there, and bought some roach poison traps and left them around the room. Six of the 11 lightbulbs worked in the room. Smelled of cigarette smoke. The carpet and floor beneath were damp in areas, one of the lamp shades had what appeared to be blood splattering on it. The bathroom was the worst. The toilet paper mount had been ripped out of the wall and remounted at a skewed angle. The shower was generally filthy, including the black-mold-covered anti-slip mat. The entire middle length of the bathtub had been cut out for whatever reason and filled in with a layer of silicon caulking which bowed down with any pressure, leaving me having to straddle the tub to shower. The wall plug for the A/C unit was unshielded, leaving exposed wiring, quite the safety and fire hazard. I have never seen anything like this, it was beyond insane. I will do everything within my power to get this place shut down.

An unforgettable experience, which is unfortunate because I would like to forget the experience. The room was dark and smelled like stale cigarettes, bad patch jobs on the dingy walls, the bathtub leaked, there were holes in the curtains and the blankets, and the TV wasn't connected to anything. The matress was harder than the floor. The keycard never worked and I had to get it replaced 3 times. It was just a mess all around. The staff were nice and I don't blame them for the condition this place is in. Whoever owns this motel should be ashamed-- the money I paid to stay here is NOT worth the lousy, dirty accommodations.

No smoke detector in room. The place was filthy. Took photocopy of my drivers license and credit card in case of damage. Looks like previous tenant hit the bathroom door. Hand prints all over. Holes in the walls. Shower was filthy. Many inspection violations.
