Close to the beach.

More like a condo than a hotel Some rooms are owned by individuals We had to ask for wash clothes everyday Manager was very polite and accommodating

Old but decent

Pros: Location is great. Right next to beach, but right at the edge of Waikiki so is easy to get in and out of resort area
Cons: It is an old hotel. Renovations to make more modern will be nice
Location: Right at the end of Waikiki beach. So getting in and out of the resort area is very easy. It is right next to the beach.
It is an older hotel. Rooms are in need of renovation. It is condo hotel style, but overall I will stay there again. It is close to the beach but not right in the middle of the main thoroughfare, so is easy to get in and out of Waikiki.

No frills motel close to beach

A short block to Waikiki beach, good burger joint next door, bar second floor, basic clean room, but hot water was in short supply. It took over 5 mins to get to our 5th floor room the first day and the day we checked out, we had to shower in cold water. It never did get warm! Tours pickup at hotel lobby. 30 min drive to airport in shuttle.

It was a great stay however the cleanliness was alright the bed had a board to support the middle and luckily we stayed one night was afraid the bed would break. Carpet seemed dirty and it was kind of wet so we paid for the cleaning fee but it wasn't worth it you know. Overall just being honest about the hotel but I would recommend it.

Nice hotel, right next to the beach small room but perfect for only sleeping since you're in Hawaii and will be outdoor most of your time! Will stay here again

Set up like a condo rental.

It was like renting a mini condo. A small room with a living room a bed a mini kitchen and bathroom. For the week we stayed we self cleaned the room and just changed the wet towels. We were close to Waikiki beach and had a great time.

When Grand is not so grand

Overall disappointing room in poor condition.Mattress uncomfortable,old and air conditioning was a small noisy system fitted in the window adjacent to our bed.The only plus was the location and the friendly staff

Unexpected cleaning fee. Room service every 4 days

Pros: It's right off the coast, only a few steps away from Waikiki beach. I had a microwave, a fridge, and a TV.
Cons: The cleaning should happen every day.
Location: In Waikiki, no need to rent a car because everything is so close, unless you want to visit the north side of the island, then rent a car for a day.
I booked a package through Expedia including flight, hotel, and car. Later i found out i would spend more on parking the day i arrived at the hotel. Parking is 18$ per day, though that was not a surprise because many hotels do the same. It seems that many people use the Honolulu parking overnight. Moreover, upon checking in they charged 100$ for cleaning services which only happens every 4 days. Yes. You would guess they are charging because you bring a lot of sand into the room and the cleaning gets tough, but no. I was there from Monday till Sunday, and they only cleaned on Friday. You can request towels and soap at no charge at the front desk, though i still think this should be done by them. I had to buy my own shampoo as well because they had none at the front desk.

Fine place to stay, great location, but beware!

Pros: Great location - place to eat and a bar. Although it's not called the Castle anymore, just Waikiki Grand, so that was confusing to my shuttle driver.
Cons: Orbitz notification of additional fees.
Location: Right by the beach, restaurants, and of course, an ABC store.
I liked everything except the extra $125 I had to spend at check in. I guess I missed the fine print, which I blame on Orbitz - that info should be made VERY clear - but there was an additional $125 added on to my total bill for a cleaning fee. And they don't come in and clean the room while you're there. It's for after you check out. They don't even come in and re-stock your toiletries. I chose that hotel because I was saving about that much compared to the other, nicer hotel I was looking at. So in the end, I spent the same amount on a lesser place. Frustrating.
