Great location.

Posted Dec 9, 2017
Good location and close to mall and beach. We arrived the hotel after the check in hour.We booked king size bed room, but we got two double beds. Next day, when we checked in with the staff, we were told that if we need to swtich room need to pay 85 for cleaning fee since we stay one night already. Beside that, everything was great. The hotel is bit old ,but clean and comfortable.

City view room at Illikai

Posted Dec 3, 2017
Pros: The full kitchen. For people who like to "dine in" this room is very suitable.Bed and room furnishings were very good and newish. Wi-fi good.
Cons: TV is free channels only. Air con is old "window rattler" type. Noisy but effective.
Location: Child friendly beach close by. Walk to Ala Moana shopping center. Or catch the bus
The Illikai is an old hotel now 50+ years old but built to a high standard. The rooms on the "mountain view" side are cheaper for a reason - traffic noise.

Nice hotel close to beach and transportation

Posted Dec 2, 2017
Very comfortable room with only downside of traffic noise on balcony, but quiet when doors closed. Great access to beach and transportation and close to major shopping mall.

Nice hotel close to the beach.

Posted Nov 27, 2017
Room is spacious. Very considerable to supply things you need in the kitchen. Beautiful ocean view from the court yard of the building. The hotel itself is a bit old, but worth the money I paid. We didn't swim because of the weather, but walking on the beach along the striped hotels on Waikiki is enjoyable by viewing their Christmas decorations and listening to the music in the bars. We are now in another resort on Kauai island, almost same price, but I feel Marina resort is much better.

Clean room, nice facilities

Posted Nov 20, 2017
Pros: Clean. At the edge of Waikiki, so less noise from the crowds.
Location: Close to Ala Moana mall.
Nice clean room. We had a city facing room with exposure to Ala Moana Blvd. Elevators fairly quick. Noisy for traffic, so bring earplugs if you are sensitive to noise. Be aware valet parking is available but expensive (typical for Honolulu). There is some street parking nearby, if you are lucky to get it, but it may require driving around a bit. It is helpful to have a smaller vehicle which makes parking easier. Ala Moana mall is a 12-15 minute walk closeby. Did not get a chance to try the facilities. Shell Vacations was good to provide beach towels and loan of beach chairs (latter not always available). Did not try the pool as it was undergoing renovations. Kitchen was equipped with a microwave, coffe maker, full size stove and fridge/freezer, blender and a number of kitchen utensils. Laundry facilities down the hall and 2 packages of laundry detergent included with the unit.

4 people stayed in the room. Beds were good for 4, expecially the kitchen had pots, pans, dishes. Staff was very helpful.

Nice hotel in a busy area

Posted Nov 13, 2017
We had hard time finding the hotel as the name on hotel says Waikiki and on the itenary says Marina beach resort. It’s close to everything, room is good but not great as other rooms we stayed during our trip, but this one is in a busy area though.
