We had an unplanned one night stay in Wakkanai due to a storm... the Dormy Inn was ideal. Great onsen and very helpful staff. We would stay again... highly recommend.

The hotel is showing a little wear around the edges, but the view from the public baths on the roof can't be beat. Also very close to the train station and next to a great soup curry place! Would stay there if I ever make the long trip to Wakkanai again. :)

The members of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Example: When we checked in we were told parking was 900 JPY per day. We were surprised that s gravel parking lot was so expensive. Another staff member directed us to a free parking area two blocks away.

A visit to the northernmost point of Japan
A trip to the Northernmost part of Japan. The Dormy Inn provided a good location and western style bedroom. The hotel is very conveniently situated for all local facilities, the ferry terminal and railway station. Many local restaurants for which the hotel provides both a lunch and dinner dining guide. Breakfast provided a wide ranging buffet served from 5.30 am which enables you to catch the early ferries to Rishiri and Rebun islands. The price is high compared to similar hotels in the UK but compares well locally.

The outdoor hot spring bath on the rooftop was a nice a touch, nothing beats enjoyed a hot spring bath with some cool winter breeze.

Dormy Inn is probably the best choice for Wakkanai
The Dormy Inn group of hotels is unique in its own way. Three outstanding features: hot spring baths, high quality buffet breakfast (free flow of Ikura in the case of the Inn in Wakkanai), free supper in the form of a tasty bowl of hot noodle. The rooms are not as comfortable as those of standard hotels of the same price range, but it is clean, and still comfy for tidy travellers. All in all, it is among the best if not the best in Wakkanai, where one goes to see where Japan ends in the north.

Great job, Dormy Inn Wakkanai! The room was modern, clean, and spacious with an excellent view of the city! The onsen on the roof has an inside section and an outside section - both with nice views of the city. Only staying guests can use the onsen which is private and very clean! The breakfast was excellent and had a nice selection of Japanese as well as Western breakfast foods. I would DEFINATELY stay here again!

Very good hotel in Wakkanai
I arrived before the 3pm check in time, and was allowed to leave my luggage. When I returned to get the key, my luggage was already delivered to the room. Free coffee at hotel lobby, and free ramen from 2130 to 2300 The onsen on the top floor was wonderful relaxation after long day sightseeing The buffet breakfast 1500yen is worth a try with local seafood. The hotel is very near to the JR Wakkanai station and there is where the bus terminal is.

The breakfast is very good and offers a great variety of food. Since Wakkanai is a small town, it might be hard to find a place that serves decent breakfast. Most of the shops open at around 10am.

Best hotel in Wakkanai. No need to look further!!
We had a wonderful time. This is our second visit and we chose this hotel again. Breakfast was excellent and never fail to amaze us at the quality of the spread. They now offer free supper of a bowl of ramen for all hotel guest. A piping hot bowl was so comforting for the cold weather!! Excellent hotel Highly recommended.

Dormy Inn is my first choice in Hokkaido
I love Dormy because they provided a warm caring in detail like hot coffee in the lobby (specially in winter), and their kindly services.

This hotel does not you check in until 3:00 p.m. which is outrageous. Forget about trying to get earlier in this one. The reception girl threw a ticket thing toward me (not at me and she was frustrated about miscommunication.) She typed something in Japanese and had it translated, and then showed me, and I understood. But the energy was hostile! She obviously over reacted. The onsen upstairs is amazing, and the breakfast was very Japanese but good. Staff at this hotel did NOT seem to like their job and you could just feel it in the air. Ok place if you want to use the onsen and overnight in Wakkanai. That's about it in my opinion. I would not stay here again.

Nice clean convenient hotel with highlight: onsen
Clean, quite convenient, a few minuts walk from Ferry terminal and station. Indoor onsen with open sky is really nice (seems to be a speciality of the Dormy Inn chain). Friendly helpfull staff.
