Good for Walla Walla

Posted Aug 22, 2016
Pros: The beds were comfortable but a little firm. Check in was quick and easy. The pool felt good. The breakfast was okay. Clean, quiet hall and room.
Cons: Get rid of the creepy, cardboard cut out guy in the lobby. Have the air conditioner on in the breakfast room. Fix the hot tub.
Location: The location was good, except I would just ask for the other side of the hotel, opposite the freeway.
The cardboard cut out guy in the lobby is really tacky and creepy, but the desk person was friendly and helpful. It would have been helpful to have some pamphlets in the lobby for things to do in the area, although I did pick up a couple little magazines. It was nice that there was a middle entrance and a luggage cart, so we only had to make one trip up. Also love having an elevator. The hallways were quiet and clean and so was the room. The bathroom was unusually tiny, including the toilet (it felt like I had to squat to sit down). Loved having a microwave and fridge in the room, but the fridge had lots of sitting water in it and under it. The air conditioner was fabulous and kept the room nice and cool, once it initially cooled it down. We enjoyed the flat screen tv, but it kept blinking out once in a while for some reason. If we stayed again we would ask for a room on the opposite side from the freeway, although when the air conditioner was on it drowned out the traffic noise. The texture on the walls in the room was weird, but the pictures were very cool! I think the rate for this hotel could be a bit high, especially if you payed their regular price and didn't get it through Expedia, like we did, but then all the hotels in Walla Walla are pretty spendy, especially for what you get.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Indeed, our promotional, life-size Wyndham Rewards Wizard cutout is quite a conversation piece in the lobby, and many guests take "selfies" with him. We apologize about the spa being out of order during your stay. It is being repaired immediately. We hope to serve you again soon.

Not a bad stopover

Posted Jul 25, 2016
Pros: Clean rooms, close to the highway, nice decore
Cons: The A/C in the room bumped and rattled through the night. Stopped when we turned on the fan, but something staff may want to tinker with.
The rooms here are clean, the room décor is nice and it was pretty quiet considering its proximity to the highway. My guess is that they run on a fairly shoestring staff, as I didn't see many people around during our stay. The night manager seemed somewhat less than pleased to see us, and we seemed to be interrupting her when we called to check in (it was after 7PM). Could have been better, perhaps, if we'd checked in earlier. Nothing rude, nothing hostile or anything like that--it was efficient and everything in order--just wasn't exactly a "welcome to Walla Walla" kind of experience. Not bad at all for a stop on the road, just not someplace I'd stay for a week.

Thank you for your comments. We will advise our maintenance engineer to take a look at those air conditioners. We apologize for your check-in experience. Often our desk agents work very long hours and she may have been tired. We hope you will give us another chance.

Pros: Ease of access from highway
Cons: Friendliness of front desk staff. Breakfast was awful.
Equal to most inexpensive motels, better than most Super 8s. Seemed pretty new or newly remodeled.

Made last minute reservations while on the road.

Posted Jun 30, 2016
Pros: Location was easy to find
Location: Only passing thru to Pendleton and Eugene
Pool was filthy with hair and scum floating with skimmer not working. Staff reported to pool being serviced same day and finally posted sign that pool was closed but the spa hot tub was still available to use.

There was rat poop in air conditioning unit. I had my baby with me and could not use the AC or heat in fear of putting the toxins into the air.

We are sorry to hear there was a foreign material in your air conditioner. We have actually never had any reports of rats in the hotel, nor have we ever seen any. I can't imagine how one would get into one of our air conditioners, but I assure you that we will promptly come inspect and sanitize when you notify the front desk of such an issue. We could also gladly move you to another room. We hope you will give us a chance to better serve you next time.

Good motel for a short stay.

Posted Jun 15, 2016
Pros: The staff was very nice and helpful. Price was good.
Cons: Better bed covers and pillows.
Location: They were right next to the highway and easy to get in and out. We were there to visit family, but there are lots of wineries and it's a lovely area.
We stayed for 5 nights so we had plenty of time to determine what we liked and didn't like. We spent quite a bit of time in our room and could have used a more comfortable chair. The ones we had were hard and uncomfortable. The bed was fine, but pillows were awful and there was only one thin blanket and it got cool a couple of nights. When it was hot the AC worked well and that was a good thing. They resurfaced the parking lot while we were there and it was hard to find a parking spot at times. The key cards didn't always work and I had to go to the office to ask for replacements which also didn't always work. The free breakfast was adequate but boring. Staff was friendly and helpful and the room was nicely cleaned. The worst thing we found was the bathroom light turned on the ventilator and was very noisy, that got old in a hurry. Overall the motel would have been fine for a quick overnight stay but for a long stay not that great.

We apologize that you experienced a hot water issue during your stay. A lack of hot water is a VERY infrequent event at Super 8, and indeed, MANY guests must have been using their showers at the same time for this to happen. We hope to provide better service during your next stay.

Pleasant stay

Posted Jun 13, 2016
Pros: Staff
Cons: Rooms are a little dated but ok
Location: Dickies bar b q had coupons at the front desk and it was pretty good
The hotel was close to freeways and had ample parking. Check in was quick and efficient. Hotel was close to restaurants and the university. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. There was a heat wave during our stay so the pool was awesome. We were very happy with it.

No frills, but absolutely perfect

Posted May 26, 2016 on Hotels
We were in Walla Walla for a college graduation. We spent very little actual time in the room--mainly for sleeping, and getting ready to greet the day. The room was very basic, but completely to our satisfaction for what we needed. The hotel was also surprisingly quiet since it was graduation weekend and the hotel was completely booked. Also, the room had an AMAZINGLY comfortable bed!
