The hotel for "poor" people in Disney

Posted Feb 12, 2018
Pros: The pool was actually very nice.
Cons: The transportation to and from the hotel to the Disney parks. You are treated like a second class citizen because you paid "less" money to stay here.
Location: You can technically get to all the Disney parks, but be prepared to walk LONG distances to get to your bus stop, then to wait in a long line to board.
This is the hotel for poor people in Disney. By that I mean we stayed 6 nights and paid around $3,300. This is a LOW COST suite at Disney. Because of this, Disney treats you this way, like you didn't give them enough money, so they make you pay for it in many subtle ways. For one, whenever you have to take a bus from Art of Animation to any Disney park (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood, etc) they make you walk all the way to the furthest bus line. At the parks, to return home to Art of Animation, it's the same thing; You have to walk all the way to the end of the line to find the return bus back to Art of Animation. Also, the buses do not come every 20 minutes to Art of Animation like they do for the other resorts. You are treated like a second class citizen. Also, every time you call Disney Guest Services, the first question they ask you is "What resort are you staying at?" When you answer with Art of Animation, they immediately start treating you like a second-class citizen. It's like flying an airline and you are in the way back jammed into a small seat. All the people who book in hotels besides your Art of Animation and pay more money get better seats, quicker access to rides, etc. It's quite terrible that Disney discriminates based on how much you pay for your hotel room, but this is true. In fact, I talked to guests who stayed previously at Animation, and they realized the mistake and on their next Disney vacation they upgraded hotels to avoid this

Great hotel!

Posted Feb 1, 2018
Pros: Pools are fun for the kids. Very affordable.
Cons: Adding a proper restaurant. cafeteria is great but would be nice to have one more option
Great hotel for young kids. Not a lot of amenities such as bars and restaurants but if your there for the kids and out most of the time who cares! The hotel is fun with lots of great Nemo/ Lightening McQueen and lion king art, if your kids are into that they will love it! Bus right at hotel front door, short walk from our room. About 10-15 min bus drive from all parks.

It's typical of Disney: a themed resort that is much nicer than a typical run-of-the-mill hotel.

Helpful and friendly staff, Clean rooms and the best pool in town. Our four year old preferred the pool, playground and Nemo room over the parks.

Check-in

Posted Jan 20, 2018
Because Room was reserved on Expedia, we had to get our Disney Magic Bands to sync at the hotel to access our room. This required a second wait in line for Concierge service to program our magic bands to open room. For a one night stay it was aggravating. Also learned friends got a better deal going through Disney reservations for similar type room.

Great resort!

We’ve never stayed at a resort while at Disney but it was amazing and will for sure will do it again in the future. My only complaint was that the bed and pillows were not comfortable at all.
