Stunning hotel, gardens and riverfront location.
The hotel and gardens are stunning with it’s beautiful riverfront setting. We had the gorgeous Swan suite in the Boathouse with a pretty terrace right on the rivers edge. The staff were very friendly and attentive and we had a delicious dinner and breakfast in the glass fronted restaurant making the most of the view. Thank you to everyone at the hotel, particularly Jeremy, for ensuring we had a very enjoyable stay to celebrate my birthday .

Lovely property, nice room, great location and gardens. Dinner was a real disappointment for the prices charged (£70 set dinner…..and my soufflé wasn’t even properly cooked). Staff were heard arguing when we had pre dinner drinks in the lounge, which was not great, staff seemed very inexperienced. Nice place overall but a lot of room for improvement.

There is a relaxed tranquility at this hotel which we find perfectly suited to our requirement. The staff are friendly and efficient and cannot do enough to please.

Quick stay before ferry.
Rather small room but ok for purpose. Staff assisted with supper as did not want full meal due to late arrival. Breakfast does not start until 7:30 but that was time we needed to depart so coffee and croissant provided but additional charge for room service! Great setting but no time to enjoy this stay!

Old fashioned splendour and quality service
Very comfortable. Perfect location and great food. The clientele were quiet senior but this didnt detract from the enjoyment. The main dining room was beautiful with lovely views and the staff were very attentive.

This is a delightful old world luxury hotel, set in beautiful gardens by the river. Car parking is limited, but all the shops and amenities of Wareham are close by. It’s important to understand what room you have signed up for. Ours was tiny...fabulous wet room, but no bath, and difficult access.

Very nice hotel - room 22 ran out of hot water so unable to shower / bath prior to dinner Reported to hotel management who apologised but said this can happen as hot water storage tank is shared with other rooms. Found this unsatisfactory Food at the restaurant was very good but did have a tendency to come out like warm

The building and grounds are amazing. All the staff are highly professional, which made our stay a unique first time experience in this style of hotel.

Told to phone ahead, as no reception at hotel. This was incorrect. No obvious parking and no sign to say parking at rear, through gates. Allocated room 2. Décor dated and room noisy! Unable to leave windows open, as kitchen ventilation shaft droned. Told we had not booked a table for dinner but had received email confirmation to say we had a few days before. Member of staff was extremely rude and argued this point. The food was enjoyable but not worth the cost. My husband's crutches were also taken, as soon as we were seated. He cannot walk without them, so this was a concern. (fire) We felt this hotel was overpriced for the product on offer.

This charming and characterful Hotel has amazing, quaint and lush gardens surrounding and backs on to a lovely stream. The parking at the rear of the hotel is convenient and adequate. The hotel is obviously in a historic building dating back to the 15th century so don’t expect sound proofed walls and floorboards. Depending on which room you stay in you can expect to hear every slightest noise from your neighbouring rooms so if your a light sleeper take earplugs. That said it’s small sacrifice for such a beautiful hotel and gardens in a great location .. many of the best sights including Durdle Door and Corfe Castle are within a 25 minute drive. The food in the restaurant was good and the breakfasts are great.

Stayed here for one night after exploring the Jurrasic coast. Handy area, only 5 min drive from Corfe Castle and 10 min to Studland. Wasn't reaaly sure what to expect with this hotel as the description and photos did not really sell it on the website. But was pleasently suuprised. very homely and comftable in lovely surroundings. We stayed in the suite which was spacious and homely but very dark, but that comes with the nature of the property.

A great place to stay for a short break
We stayed 2 nights in this beautiful hotel. Our classic room was lovely with a bijou en-suite. Be aware that, as an old building, rooms are not huge. The surroundings more than make up for this, with attractive gardens leading down to the river. We didn't eat dinner there but their breakfasts were delicious. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Lovely hotel set in nice grounds. Room was fabulous, staff were very helpful. Good breakfast - scrambled eggs and smoked salmon particularly good. Very relaxing stay. We visited mid-week for a getaway without the kids and we found ourselves a good 20 years younger than the average guest. Might be different at weekends.
