NO Expedia VIP benefits

Pros: I enjoyed the location of this hotel.
Cons: The Hotel could have housekeeping do a better job cleaning and communicate the Expedia VIP benefits to staff. Maintenance should fix water temp
This hotel doesn't even realize they are part of the Expedia VIP program. They didn't welcome me as a VIP member and didn't know anything about the VIP benefits that Expedia had already communicated were included. I spoke with 5 different people to finally get the drink coupons that Expedia said I was entitled to but when I went to use those coupons, the ONE bar that accepted them was closed and then later when I went back, didn't know anything about them and wouldn't redeem them. I received ZERO VIP benefits from this booking. When I showed the hotel staff the Expedia emails they still didn't know how to confer the benefits. In response to my disappointing check-in review the hotel replied they would deal with it directly but NO ONE did anything ... even after I showed the front desk and the manager on duty the email correspondence. DO NOT BOOK this hotel for the VIP benefits because they DON'T EXIST. The room itself was an average hotel room but housekeeping wasn't very attentive to their duties. It was a little dirty and housekeeping never once emptied the water out of the ice bucket when they cleaned. The most annoying issue was that the water out of the cold faucet was HOT. Even the water in the toilet was steaming my behind when I sat down. It was darn near impossible to take a shower with any pressure because you could barely turn on the water before it was scalding.

Under construction, Front Desk indifferent.

Cons: Front Desk Staff, Information about amenities and operation of new electronic Do Not Disturb, Room Service, Awareness more than instruction needed.
Location: Close to everything, Decatur St. River Walk, Aquarium, Theatre, War museum, Bourbon Street, MId Town., Street Cars...
Upon arrival I was directed to a second floor temporary Front Desk due to construction. The Two Desk Clerks were engaged in a LOUD conversation with what seemed to be friends. I was ignored until finally one clerk decided I had to be attended to and reluctantly did so amidst the yelling. Unable to hear any communication until the parties engaged in loud conversation with staff left. Once through the Unpleasantness at Front Desk, the Room was newly remodeled and in very good order. There is a new electric system for Do Not Disturb, Service needed and one other option. This is not explained and therefore worthless. I was rudely awakened both mornings of my thankfully short stay, Before I finally noticed the switch that controlled the Exterior display. Its a great system once you are aware of it! There were no brochures or Amenities list in the room. I noticed room service carts but was never made aware of such options. Ruths Chris was a Nice surprise and the highlight of my stay. Added Resort fees are a joke, but real. Perhaps I just arrived on a bad renovation weekend, I won't ever take a chance again, there are too many Lovely Hotels in New Orleans with less attitude and more Hospitality.

Hotel is under renovation !

Was woken up early with drilling right outside our door ! Hotel Manager did not want to compensate ... said someone should had told me it was under renovation ... No one informed me (Harrahs or Expedia ). If this ....

Honestly I've stayed here a few times the staff in the casino were GREAT ... it was just a bunch of little things through my stay that bothered me

Front Desk

Front Desk is outsourced to a call center and response in the hotel is poor. Called several times for a coffee machine replacement and staff never came to my room. Called Expedía customer service to complain. The Hotel staff changed it hours later. Parcking is expensive $30 and far from the rooms.
