Great Staff!

Pros: Staff, Staff, Staff, and character!
Cons: Clean, Clean, Clean!
Location: Walking distance to food, French Quarter, Trolleys, and The River Walk.
Great Staff! Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and caring! The hotel is old and charming! Needs a good cleaning though!

Initially when the taxi pulled up, I was really excited as I prefer boutique hotels; however I was quickly disappointed.The doorman at the time, seemed bothered he had to open the door for me. After I checked in I and came back down later the bar/restaurant area was pretty crowded and I asked for other eating options, I was given very little information, so I took a stroll of the neighborhood - Surprised, because there are several options in the immediate area. During my 4 day stay I tried to eat in restaurant for breakfast on two separate occasions, and the server who worked that station, as well as one of the ladies behind the counter acted as if I was inconveniencing them because I had a few questions about breakfast service (both just pointed to a chalkboard and said get in line). I'm still not sure how the breakfast service works, I think you read a chalkboard by the front desk, then get in a cashier line to place your order, then you are seated. there is no collateral in the room informing guest of the restaurant hours, nor is it explained during the check in process.When I checked out, I asked the guest service agent how long would it take to get a taxi to the airport, or did she know the hours of the airport shuttle. She stated she would get a taxi for me to the airport, when I asked about the shuttle, she said she would get a taxi.When I received my bill, there was a valet parking charge. I said to her that isn't mine, she said yes it is, finally she reversed

Very dog friendly hotel.

This hotel has staff that love dogs. The downfall is there isn't a place close that you can walk your dog to to go to the bathroom. That isn't the hotels fault. The restaurant is closed from 2-5 so no food during that time. There are bars near by and the casino but the nice restaurants close too from 2-5. Our room wasn't completely clean when we checked in. The bathroom had fresh towels but it hadn't been cleaned. There was gliter on the floor and in the shower. There was hair on the walls of the shower and the sink had hair and toothpaste in it. Othere than that it was a great 4 night stay.

Housekeeping was super loud!!!

Loved the hotel! Only issue was how loud housekeeping was in the mornings.

Nice boutique hotel close to French quarter

Just what we were looking for. Lovely hotel in old renovated building. Great character. Lovely bar in lobby. Served French Truck coffee. Super comfortable beds. Nice staff. Would stay here again. Close walking distance to French quarter. Close to trolley also

Don't stay this hotel if you need any sleep.

Don't stay this hotel if you need any sleep. We booked an interior Room on Expedia and were given an Exterior Room adjacent to two nightclubs/bars. My entire family did not sleep until 4am. (myself, wife and 18-month old son). Beautiful hotel, horrible experience.

We are sorry that our kind gesture for a complimentary upgrade resulted in you not getting any sleep. We were only trying to do something kind but it backfired on us due to our noisy neighbors next door. In the future we will make sure to ask our guest if they desire the interior room that they booked, so thank you for this eye opening experience to make a change in our policy. We are very sorry that this soured your stay and I assure you this is not the normal and you can get a good nights sleep here.

Downtown New Orleans, LA and close to gas and groc

Pros: The bed is very comfortable and the location is central .
Cons: Amenities in rooms. Larger restrooms would be great too.
Location: Wonderful numerous restaurants, Harrah's Casino has a fabulous buffet, and offers Veteran discount.
Unexciting hotel. The Bell staff are SUPERIOR and willing to do for you, like groceries, liquor, etc. Great with directions. The hotel was VERY difficult to locate as there were numerous 1 way streets.
