Great place to stay
I have stayed at this property before and love the house and the grounds. It is wonderful seeing deer wander in the back in front yards every day. The decor of the house is very cheerful and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped as is the bar. It is nice to have so many DVD movies to choose from. I will look forward to staying at Dot’s Spot next time I am in the area
Stayed 4 nights in Nov 2021

Wonderful house
This house is great for a small group. Very pretty, well stocked and walking distance to the beach. Close to Astoria, Cannon Beach, Seaside, etc. I highly recommend it!

Great house and kitchen
We were surprised the house was so close to the road to the beach, but that didn't effect how we loved the house and backyard! Great layout, very bright and clean and super stocked kitchen for making most anything! We did have a rough start due to lack of communication venues with Vacasa (didn't respond to emails, phone wait times excessive and no contact with owner). Then we get there mid afternoon and still hadn't gotten the promised email with code to get into house. Called and they said they sent it (nothing in junk mail or anything) then sent it again and still didn't get it. The code was wrong then they gave us another one that didn't work then said we would have to wait for someone to figure it out! I started to get upset because we had been traveling all day and were tired and hungry. Then the lady called back with a backup code that worked. Evidently others had complained the other codes didn't work, but she had to dig to get the one that did. Bless her! This should have never happened., We did enjoy our stay and the pile of DVD's and games made sure we didn't get bored. The backyard was great for hanging out complete with deer, and there were good beds, plenty of towels and good places to read and play games. We got to enjoy walking the road down to the beach at night and admiring the star display on clear nights as the unit was the last one before the 1/2 mile walk to the beach along the road. In the morning, the Nest is just a minute or so down the road and has great scones and other baked goods plus good lunch stuff.

Great place but the fees were outlandish
After doing more than 30 rentals, I have to say that this one was one of the best. We spent four nights there August 16-20, 2021 and had an awesome time. This place is EXACTLY what the photos on the website show. Big, spacious, roomy...all good words to describe this rental. Place was immaculate when we arrived. They had figured out there was a problem with the electronic door lock before we got there and called to give us a new code as we drove down. They texted later to make sure we had not had any problems. We got in right a 4:00 after stopping for groceries at the Walmart (about a 5 minute drive away along with a Costco and Fred Meyer) but we would advise waiting until you get in and see what is available already. We have never had such a well stocked kitchen. The only thing we wish we had bought were coffee filters. Hope they get some more soon and the right ones. Other than that, we had everything. We saw deer walk across the back yard every day. Sometimes twice a day. It was a longer walk to the beach than we thought it would be. But no big deal. About half a mile. We were also disappointed that bakery that you can see from the driveway was closed Wed and Thurs but I am just saying that to let future renters know. We had read in these reviews that the beds were bad and sagging. Either they replaced them or they had their rentals mixed up. Beds were just fine. TV was great, games and puzzles galore and so much to do nearby. If you go into Seaside we can recommend Ruby's Roadside Grille for the food but not much for the ambience. Service was also excellent. Skip the aquarium. It was old and sad. The seals you get to feed are funny but it's sad to see them like that. We did Captain Kidd's Amusement park and liked the way you could by the rides ala carte. Our kids/grandkids just did the go-carts and LOVED THEM! We also did the Swan Boats on the river but that just gave me a back ache. All in all, this is a GREAT rental except for the hidden costs. You need to know before you get excited about it that the total of taxes and fees was almost $800 which made the total price per night $556 which is outlandish. I know there is nothing they can do about the taxes but the fees were ridiculous. That's only reason we would not come back. Everything else was great.
