DisappointingPosted Nov 13, 2015
Pros: Interesting historic building, plenty of character. Pleasant setting. Good pricing for room. Nice bathroom.
Cons: Staff training required. Lighting in room was very poor. Only three table lamps in a large room made it too dark to read easily.
Location: Location good for my business appointment
Wrong room offered on arrival. Then I was charged for breakfast which should have been included. Had to complain to Reception staff, remedial action taken. Bar staff awful. Obviously no customer service experience or training. One staff member had a customer leaving in tears then used the 'F' word openly which upset other guests. Unacceptable behaviour. I made a formal complaint to Bar Manager. Live entertainment very poor. I went back to the Bar where the swearing barman was providing the entertainment with his language and poor service.

A Downton experience 😉Posted Oct 5, 2015
Arrived on Friday with another guest.. Checked in. Everything was fine throughout the weekend break.. Location was great and the hotel grounds were picturesque.. The facilities were good spa, swimming pool, gymnasium etc.. There is an excellent cafe/bistro just next to the Bosworth hotel on the grounds.. Would recommend the jacket potatoes😊. So in a word it's a 'great 'place to stay

Trip to market bosworthPosted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: We enjoyed our stay I loved the hotel room full of character especially liked the large bathroom with his and her sinks.
Cons: Didn't like looking out of our bedroom window at all the staff smoking their cigarettes Didn't feel that was very sophisticated or pleasant.
Location: Great location with wondeful gardens
We enjoyed walking in the gardens and the being able to walk into market bosworth The room was lovely and spacious

Comfortable but needs some renovationPosted Aug 11, 2015 on Hotels
The setting is lovely – really close to the village with nice little shops and cafes. The hotel is in need of renovation but being such a sizable and old site it's easy to see how big a project that would be. However, there were little things that wouldn't take much that would improve the quality: for instance, to get to the bar courtyard area you have to step over a large window sill which is a blatant health and safety issue. Our toddler had to be lifted over and there were many elderly guests for whom this would have been dangerous. The outdoor bar courtyard is the only area in the bar with dining tables at an appropriate height (e.g. not coffee tables), which was frustrating when trying to eat from the bar menu, and an hour or two's weeding would make it look much prettier. The food itself was very good, and not expensive (although it took 30 minutes for a panini and a pasta bake to arrive - and would have been longer had the waiter not been very attentive in chasing it up). The breakfast was expensive - we had originally booked a room with it included but had to cancel due to illness and our rebooking through hotels.com for some reason didn't include breakfast - and a few small touches would have made it better quality (brown as well as white bread for toast, a few pastries). Our room was pleasant and very clean, and the bathroom was nice and the shower great. The television provision was random (a few channels scattered over the 100); full freeview would be great.

NICE on approach RUBBISH past the doorsPosted Aug 10, 2015 on Hotels
I arrived and went to bar to get a Latte and was told they were cleaning the machine which I found quite strange because they weren't due to shut for another hour and a half so I suggested heating some milk in the microwave to which the member of staff handed me a jug of hot milk and left to my own means to make it, even though hints on where the coffee then the teaspoon were didn't work, the bed was harder then a piece of plywood, I was listed as room only until reception changed it to B&B which I had paid for, I didn't realise you could make scrambled egg rubbery and sausage so tasteless I couldn't work out whether it was eating pork or beef, told reception on leaving this was my first & last visit, for a stately home I found poorer than poor in quality, food & service especially when you go out to the smoking area and notice the frame wasn't just rotten, parts of it just simply wasn't there. BAD ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING

hotels.com disasterPosted Jul 17, 2015 on Hotels
Disaster. Booked and paid hotel.com online. Arrived at 11pm to be told hotel (which is in the middle of nowhere) was overbooked and we would be turned away. Receptionist took pity and found a room eventually. Complained to hotel.com heard nothing. Will NEVER trust them again
