Nice room shame about the rest.

Posted Jul 30, 2016
Pros: The greeting by the receptionist was brilliant, cheerful and helpful.
Cons: The wifi when working is very slow. No use to business visitors at all. Some staff attitudes particularly bar staff.
Location: Only stayed one night so did not explore the area. Looks cry nice though.
The reception and room was great worthy of the hotels look. The room had two desks to work at which is very useful. Having to ask for tv remote and attitude of bar staff did not feel welcoming or that we were valued visitors. Unable to complete evenings work as the promised wifi very slow. Emailed the owning company with comments and received no answer. Will not be returning.

Frilly knickers and a shabby dress

Posted Jul 11, 2016
Pros: Its convenient if noisy location; the helpful Romanian barman Costel - that's about it.
Cons: How long have you got ? Complete refurbishment required and/or demolition
Location: Stratford upon Avon; Warwick Castle; Royal Leamington Spa; stately homes etc etc.
Where to begin ? We were attending an Institute of Advanced Motorists' event at Gaydon, Warks. and chose to stay at the Honiley Court Hotel, advertised on Trip Advisor at a 50% discount rate. First impressions were of a pleasant aspect, admittedly on a busy and noisy main road (the A449); Room 47 was on the second floor, but had a less than brilliant view out over the flat roof of the restaurant area, air conditioning units through the mostly obscured window; the window which did open was single glazed, had no window locks, rotting around the window frame and allowing us to hear the continuous barking of the residents of the dogs' home just down the road. Oh, and the hotel is also on the flight path to (presumably) Birmingham Airport, as planes regularly and loudly passed over throughout our stay. The hotel, owned by the Talash Group is a strange mix - total bling downstairs, all shiny surfaces and chandeliers, with a "VIP lounge" featuring fake gold chaise longues and fake bookcase wallpaper. Opposite our room was the "Henley Suite", in reality a bedroom plus anteroom, which was filled with trolleys containing mountains of used bedlinen. But the final nail in the coffin was at breakfast the next morning, overseen by an elderly diminutive Italian lady and her rather taller partner. The room was bright and pleasant looking; the range of food pretty good - self service cooked breakfast, cereals, fruit juice and toast - until a large cockroach scuttled across the floor !

A disastrous weekend , multiple problems.

Posted Jul 4, 2016
Pros: NOTHING, except the breakfast !!! Oh and Michael who tried very hard to please under very difficult circumstances.
Cons: A great deal should be done, clean the carpets, make all the repairs so badly needed. Employ more people to help Michael.
Booked and confirmed two family rooms for a total of 8 family members. (Room 1 - 1 adult - 3 children, Room 2 - 2 Adults and 2 children) When we checked in were where given two alleged family rooms - Room 36 only had one king sized bed for 2 adults and 2 children (all in 1 bed!1) and room 37 only had one double bed and one sleep sofa (NOT MADE UP). So neither room WAS a FAMILY room as confirmed. The Sleep sofa in room 37 was eventually made up with linen. In room 36 we eventually (at 10pm) we had a "single Rollaway bed" delivered. So, in both rooms 36 and 37 the adults had to share the main bed with at least one of the children!! Elevator broken so had to carry bags up two flights of stairs Shower in Room 37 Not working (broken shower valve - was never fixed despite several requests Room 36 very strong smell of paint/vanish - made our daughter and grandchildren feel nauseous. Request desk fans for room 36 to help cool the rooms and help with the strong smell - ONLY received on second evening. Windows in room 37 had no catches so had to leave them flapping in the breeze. Traffic passing the hotel was very noisy - constantly disturbing the sleep for us all. NO alternative rooms available - but on second evenin was given an extra room down the hall after MUCH complaining! Went to the bar to get a few drinks - NO Bartender!!! We must say that the HOTEL Receptionist _ Michael did try to help us. He obviously is made to wear "multiple hats" including barman etc

Hotel in the middle of nowhere!

Food and staff were ok but our room had cobwebs in the corners and a broken window. No views from the room except a marquee 3 foot away!

Great potential but revamp those meals

Posted Feb 2, 2016 on Hotels
This is a reasonably well presented hotel with nice public areas and spacious clean rooms that have good storage space. The hotel has the potential to do really well but the big let down areas are the restaurant and bar. Service is slow and both the bar and a la carte menus are very limited. Removing the enforced, highly priced fixed price deal on the a la carte menu would probably increase orders. Wifi can be patchy.

Okay for a cheap break

Posted Jan 17, 2016
Staff were friendly and very helpful. Bed very comfortable and room big enough. The reception decor is a bit too blingy, the interior is tired and needs tlc eg curtain rail pulled from wall wigh bodged fix, cover missing from tap in bathroom, lift not working, walls on stairs marked and scuffed.

Restaurant was short staffed and after waiting for 5 mins to be served gave up. Wifi was very patchy.
