Nice Hotel close to DuPont Circle

Posted Oct 23, 2016
Hotel has been recently redone with nicely appointed rooms. We stayed in a Jr King suite overlooking Connecticut Ave. plenty of room and very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and responsive to our requests. Hotel is also close to a plethora of restaurants to the north east within walking distance.

No parking, old facility.

Posted Oct 22, 2016
Pros: Very nice restaurant/bar
Cons: Tiny bathroom and lighting
The hotel staff was very courteous and the entire facility very clean. I tell that this hotel was re-modeled in the near past. $42 for parking was absolutely expensive. Tiny bathrooms, and there was no way to turn the bathroom light without making the room very bright which was very inconvenient when traveling with wife.

Pros: Great staff, location, good value - especially in a city like Washington DC
Cons: WI-FI needs to be improved--very slow (however you can higher speed for additional charge. Problem is signal is very weak.
Location: Very close to everything. Great-wonderful restaurants, DuPont circle. Major attractions just a short cab ride away.

Great location at a decent price

Posted Oct 19, 2016
Pros: see above
Cons: see above
Location: In the heart of Dupont Circle neighborhood--one of the best in D.C.
We spent three nights at the Churchill and truly wish that it could have been comfortable. The room was exceedingly comfortable with elegant decor and plenty of room. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The location of this hotel is excellent--very close to amenities such as restaurants, drugstore, etc. But you can also go a few blocks and find peaceful neighborhoods for great walking. We would definitely stay again.

bad hotel good people

Posted Oct 13, 2016
Pros: The staff are nice
Cons: The so called gym/fitness center is a joke! Only two filthy treadmills and two elliptical and some dumbles and one flat bench. Too small and nasty.
The hotel was fully booked and only one elevator running throughout my 10 day stay. Very bad internet Bad fitness center Not worth what I paid

Great Location, Friendly Staff, Large Room, Dated

Posted Oct 1, 2016
Pros: Super friendly staff. Beautiful from the outside. Great lobby. Large rooms. Restaurant onsite had great coffee and breakfast. Location was great.
Cons: The room I stayed in was quite dated. Bathroom was too small to maneuver comfortably and didn't feel clean.
Location: Great location, near Dupont Circle. Very walkable. Shopping and restaurants nearby. Safe neighborhood.
Super friendly staff. Beautiful from the outside. Great lobby. Large room. But wallpaper and carpet was very dated in the room I stayed in. Bathroom was very, very small. Given the size of the room, I would have traded space in the room, if it meant a little more space to maneuver in the bathroom. (The door hit the toilet when I opened it). The bathroom could have been cleaner (baseboards, room corners and tile grout were all stained and seemed dirty. I imagine because of how small and crammed it is, it would be hard to actually get into the nooks and crannies easily while cleaning. If I was in a bind, I'd stay here again. (Maybe there are newer rooms available and I just stayed in an older one?). I'd be willing to try it one more time but would be apprehensive to recommend to a work colleague unless some updates had been made. Rooms had been oversold and mine didn't become available until around 8pm. And I'd booked a room with 1 King bed, and all that was left was a room with 1 Double. That was disappointing.

Wonderful, helpful, always smiling staff but the room was tired and run down. It was disappointing.

Dear Guest, Thank you much for choosing our property and taking the time to provide a feedback on your recent stay. We appreciate you mentioning the friendliness and professionalism of our staff. On the other hand we have to admit that hotel's building is quite outdated and for this reason we initiated the major renovation project that will eventually bring our hotel and it's rooms to the new contemporary level. Thanks again for your business and we look forward to welcoming you back at the new Churchill Hotel in the very near future.

No parking

Posted Sep 20, 2016
When booking this hotel there was no mention that parking was unavailable due to construction work on the parking garage. Hotel staff assumed I knew this. I was given a flyer with three options listing arrangements for parking with nearby hotels. Unfortunately, the hotel I chose to park my vehicle with was not aware of the arrangement and even made a copy of the flyer for their information. So having made my own arrangement my stay was considerably inconvenienced and at an expense I was not expecting.
