Great location, perfect for site seeing.

Posted Mar 16, 2017
Pros: Affordable, clean and great location close to all the major sites.
Cons: Cant be helped since your in the heart of the city but lots of noise at night with emergency vehicles but after all, adds to character of the city.
Location: One block to rental bikes stand and several coffee shops across the street for breakfast. Close enough to Georgetown if you enjoy walking.
Took a trip to DC to see the sites with my 15 year old son. March time frame so the weather was a little chilly but had a great time. So many things to see. From the Capital, Supreme Court, White House, Smithsonian, Monuments, Ford Museum, Georgetown, Arlington Cemetery, etc..... Used City Rental bikes to get around on so very convenient and affordable. As a child my father took us kids to D.C. and so something I have always wanted to do for my son. Great experience and an opportunity to reflect and appreciate having grown up in the United States.

Dear Ken, Thank you for posting comments on your recent stay. We are happy to see that you liked our location and it made it easy for you and your son to get around town. Bikes are one of my favorite ways to explore the town. It gives you such a great point of view. We are sure that your son will remember it fondly like you did and he will be able to do the same with his children.

DC Trip for Two

Posted Mar 5, 2017
My husband and I came to be D.C. tourists for our anniversary :) the staff was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I already read in the review that it can get loud in the middle of the night due to construction and that did bother my husband until he utilized the ear plugs they provide. Hotel RL was so close to everything! We walked, rode bikes, or took a short Lyft ride anywhere we needed to go. The fridge and microwave made it so we didn't have to spend so much money on meals every day.

Close to restaurants and subway

Posted Mar 4, 2017
Pros: Comfortable bed, close to subway.
Cons: Double glazing and curtains on the windows.
Location: Location is great.
Our room was spacious and comfortable with a fridge and microwave. We are inner city dwellers and are used to some noise ,however overlooking L Street the noise was horrendous as road works were done outside on the street at night. They did provide earplugs. No coffee maker in the room although it was advertised. Very basic supplies in the kitchenette. Not many staff to be seen but those we did meet were pleasant and helpful. The heating was on full blast and couldnt be adjusted.

Dear Mhairi, We appreciate your feedback. We do apologize for the street noise. We want our guests to get a restful night sleep, but some nights DDot has other plans. We recent removed the coffee makers because of the coffee bar in the lobby. We want our guests to have an amazing coffee experience with Victrola coffee. We are able to put coffee makers in the room upon request. I am sorry we did not give you this option.

Mixed emotions

Posted Feb 27, 2017
To begin, the total cost of the trip was roughly $1,700.00. The hotel staff was extremely friendly, but the hotel was not as expected. To spend that much money, it would have been nice to have actually slept comfortably in our rooms. The air conditioning was out and we used several box fans to try to cool the room down. The noise was a slight issue, but my biggest concern is the air conditioning. We hardly stayed at the hotel because the room temperature was at least 80 degrees. Other than the air issue the hotel was decent, just honestly feel like $1,700 for our stay was too expensive to not be comfortable.

Please accept our sincere apologize for the air situation. February was the warmest DC had ever seen since they started keeping records in the late 1800's. We were in the process of servicing the air system when the warm weather came so we were not able to get in on due to having to ship special Freon in. I can tell you that it is back on line and we are able to get it running. We are so sorry for the inconvenience.

This hotel is located in a very good neighborhood. There are several cafes, restaurants, and pharmacies within an easy walking distance. And, the ride to the airport is also very less (cost & time). Highly recommend.

In a good area

Posted Jan 26, 2017
Pros: It was central
The hotel was OK but there was an electrical conduit hanging down in the hallway. The heat was unbearable, the thermostat didn't work had to leave the windows open and then you got the noise from the street. They did have ear plugs in the room, now I see why

Hi there, we appreciate your feedback. We have a 1 pipe system, which means we can either have AC or Heat and not both at the same time. Spring and Fall is a hard time for us but we do our best to watch the weather and adjust according. I do hope you will give us another try! .

Wonderful small hotel in center city DC!

Posted Jan 25, 2017
Pros: Clean, nice, walking distance to anything and anywhere in the city.
Cons: Facilities can always use updating.
Location: Tour Capitol Hill, the White House, all museums, restaurants, shops.
This was a small lovely hotel. The hotel staff were very kind and helpful. The staff really went out of there way to assist us in any and everything possible. Snacks were always provided for free in the lobby. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were clean and orderly. I would definitely stay here again!
